After graduating and landing what I thought was a great job I've found myself bored out of my mind. I decided in September 2012 that something needed to change. So after scrimping and saving I will be going on a backpacking trip up the east coast of the USA and then hopping over to Berlin. My buddy James will be joining me from March 27th-May 3rd. After that I will be riding solo around the Balkans and Southeast Europe.

I can be reserved some days and some days I'm one of most outgoing people you have met. I really enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories.

Most of the time I'd rather go to a bar have a few drinks and good conversations, but every now and then I'm up for dancing like a jackass at a club.
I love the outdoors. Some of my favorite trips have involved a backpack full of bread, meats, cheeses, a bottle of wine, and some good views of the countryside. Mention anything related to being outside and I am up for it. I'm obsessed with Rococo and Baroque buildings. Those rich Europeans knew how to impress.

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind to others and try to see every situation from someone else's perspective. I think the world is severely lacking in empathy and compassion. I'm not fond of people who are always more concerned about themselves and their own comfort rather than others.

I think everyone should take time off in their youth to travel. If you thoroughly enjoy it, make it a lifestyle, if not then I hope you find something you enjoy! I just can't see working my entire life towards retirement and a family then having a heart attack or some other horrible thing. I don't want to gamble with my dreams so I will work towards seeing the whole world while I am young! I can always sit at a desk and work when I am old.

I unfortunately do not have a couch to offer at the moment, but I fully plan to pay my CS experiences forward as soon as I have the ability!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been couchsurfing my way through Eastern Europe for quite a while now. I've only had one bad experience, and it wasn't that bad!

兴趣

The outdoors, beers- both for drinking and tasting, traveling, funny stories, stand up comedy, soccer and hockey games, guitar, photography, writing. I'm pretty much interested in everything. If your compassionate about something chances are I will be able to enjoy it. I really enjoy night and landscape and night photography. So if you are in to that let me know! I would like to sell some of my work on this trip for money so I will be shooting quite often. Did I mention I like hiking and eating?

Right now I'm really big on William Elliott Whitmore, Charged G.B.H, In Flames, Muddy Waters, Punch and Avett Brothers, Mackelmore, Devil Makes Three, the Misfits, Avicii, IAM, Stromae. I really listen to anything that isn't poppy and made for the radio. I LOVE live music! If you are in a band or know of a good live show I am always ready to go!

I really enjoy social and cultural documentaries. I'm a sucker for big adventures like Ride the Divide. Like Tarintino's movies, Dog Day Afternoon is a classic. Also enjoyed Get Him to The Greek. I'm a big movie buff.

Anything by Bourdain. Walk in the woods, Confederacy of Dunces, Palahniuk, The 4 Hour Work Week, Bukowski...

Camping in the Sahara and getting up to see the sun rise was pretty amazing. Hiking the Calanques in France! Kayaking the Chassahowitzka river was beautiful. I have plenty of other adventures to talk about!
Hiked between the two most remote villages in Albania, amazing views!

I can teach some very basic guitar skills. Nothing fancy. If you can already play I will be of no use to you!
I know a lot about photography and can teach that. If you want to practice English it's my native language. I know much about sales, marketing, advertising and design. I studied it in college because I loved it, not because I wanted to graduate quickly.
