Hi, I’m Mahayub! I’m a very energetic and enthusiastic person, with a huge interest in all kinds of sports. I live in the beautiful city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna in the north of Tenerife. I’m currently studying psychology at the university here. Everything related to the psyche, human behavior and personalities is of interest to me. The capital of Tenerife, Santa Cruz, is just 20 minutes away from where I live. I’ve lived in the Canaries all my life but I’m of Arabic origin. My family is from Western Sahara. I speak Arabic, Spanish, French and English. I love my home island of Tenerife. The landscape here, the people and the culture are simply amazing. And the natural beauty is spectacular, not to mention the weather. Sports play a big role in my life. I highly enjoy weightlifting, swimming and hiking. Besides that I like partying and meeting new interesting people, as well as getting to know other cultures. I love being around people who are full of energy and enthusiasm. I’m really fond of learning. I’ve started to learn a bit of Russian and I really like it. I would also like to practice my English skills with my guests/hosts and learn about their customs. I have a very positive outlook on life, always enjoying each and every moment without worrying too much about the future.

I like books about history, especially on the first and second World War. Some of my favorite authors include Ken Follet and Oliver Sax. I like jazz music, reggae and minimal house. My favorite movies are Beasts of No Nation, Her, Finding The Happiness and We Are Your Friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent one month in the Sahara desert in 52°C. I don’t advise you to do that!
