CURRENT MISSION
Travel / Discover / Experience the world!
ABOUT ME
Mostly warm, sometimes quirky, mostly organized, sometimes laidback, mostly open to new experiences, sometimes comfortable with the regular, mostly predictable, sometimes impulsive, mostly jack of many trades, sometimes master of very few, always particular about cleanliness, always crazy about traveling and always looking for ways and means to do that, always interested in meeting new people with different backgrounds and world views, always ready to shake-a-leg (though my favourite music is Indian Bollywood and Punjabi - can sample when we meet :)), mostly love the outdoors - being in the midst of nature in quiet surroundings, sometimes like being indoors absorbed in with a book or cooking a new cuisine ... (this part of the description is to be continued).
By profession I'm a brand manager - work which allows me to spend time understanding people and their thought processes.
My husband - Abhishek is a consultant by profession. He loves watching movies and reading. He enjoys meeting people with different interests, chatting and sharing experiences, tries his hand at cooking on weekends, and loves walking around new cities understanding their cultures.
PHILOSOPHY
Be good to others - live with a clean conscience.
Give more. Take less.
Do things for people at times when they dont expect it. It results in a higher happiness quotient.
Do what I want to do - learn all I want to learn. Travel dance, play an instrument, cook interesting food, bake, paint ... this list just goes on.
Dance ... like a bird set free.
Laugh. Heartily. Lots.
Smile. At others. To myself. For no reason at times.
Be at peace within. It reflects outside.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Host people from across the world - give them a taste of India and Indians. Surf with people when I travel - get a taste of the local culture and understand the people.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We've made some amazing friends in the time that we have been on CS, learnt about other cultures and ways of living and thinking. We've learnt that the cities in which we couchsurfed are the cities we enjoyed traveling through most. There's something extremely selfless about allowing strangers to share your home and life, and that results in a joy that cannot be compared to all the experiences that money can buy. We look forward to many more memorable experiences, and lots of learning.
Interests
Understanding cultures and people - what, why, how, when ... people and their choices fascinate me.
Nature - need to get away from a city and find myself in natural surroundings where sounds like birds chirping, wind blowing through trees, crickets screeching, a stream murmuring to itself - drown out everything else.
Dancing - The best stress reliever.
Painting - Helps me calm my nerves in hectic times.
