I’m a guy from Jaffna, Sri Lanka, who loves to travel around the world, but especially within India. India is my favourite destination because of its diversity, beauty, and culture. I enjoy photographing different places and people in India and learning about their history and traditions. I’m more of a travel photographer than a tourist, and I like to capture the essence and soul of the places I visit.

My native language is Tamil, but I’m always keen to learn new languages and communicate with people from diverse backgrounds. I have a passion for photography and meeting new people, especially from different cultures. I also love to meet fellow photographers and learn from them. I can also teach photography if you are a beginner.

I also love Indian food and I’m mostly vegetarian, so I appreciate the variety and richness of plant-based dishes. I’m interested in spirituality more than religious dogma, and I like to explore different ways of understanding the meaning of life.

Couch surfing is mainly about hosting, but I don't host anyone. I used to host some people before, but not anymore because I moved back in with my parents. I've also never used a couch or intend to use one.

I never use free accommodation. I travel on a budget, but I don't want to cause any problems for my host because of my financial constraints. I also don't travel very often, so I prefer a fairly comfortable room with an en suite bathroom. I'm an early riser and I like to visit places early in the day without bothering anyone. However, outside India, where it's too expensive for me, I might think about using this service. At that point, I will also start hosting people, but for now, please don't ask me to host anyone.

The main reason why I’m on couch surfing is to get help when I travel solo. I would really appreciate some companionship. Although I’m a solo traveller, I like to travel with local people.

Meanwhile, I offer the same to the travellers who come to my city!

I also love to meet people from various places and cultures, as this will broaden my perspective and knowledge.

I also love to meet fellow photographers and learn from them. I can also teach photography if you are a beginner.

Musica, film e libri

I’m not a big music listener, but I sometimes get mesmerised by Carnatic and Indian music when I hear them. I have also enjoyed other types of music, but I don’t usually listen to music on my own.

I like sci-fi and fantasy movies, especially those that feature aliens without horror. I really don’t like to be disturbed by movies after watching them. The Lord of the Rings trilogy was one of my favourites. I also like movies that involve modern warfare. I’m not a fan of horror and psychological thrillers, but I’m okay with blood that happens because of gunfights or swordfights.

I don’t read books that don’t teach me a skill. I have plans to read many books on photography and learning skills, but I find learning from YouTube easier.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I have travelled to South India three times. I have visited all the states of South India except Kerala. Recently, I travelled to Southern Uttar Pradesh and explored the cities of Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Kaushambi. The last one was a solo trip, but I received a lot of help from Google and CS.

I can also speak very basic Hindi now. I have yet to put it to the full test in my future travels
