ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Maria. I work as a camera tech on photo sets. I love traveling and am happy to hear from fellow travelers! I went to music school in university for viola performance, but I've worked in the photo world for a few years now. In my free time I am on the collective at Bluestockings Bookstore, a radical critical theory bookstore and activist center on the Lower East Side. I am also a huge lover of food, and have worked in NYC restaurants for a few years, so I can tell you where all the best spots are in the area. I love sharing my space with others and hearing from other travelers on a regular basis.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love my city so much. I love showing people around! I am hopping sublet to sublet because of heavy upcoming travel, but if I am here I would love to help however I can. Also if you are worried about communicating in the city in English, I love learning foreign languages where I can, and would love to try and help you out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used couchsurfing extensively while traveling around Eastern and Southeast Asia in the Spring of 2012. I definitely could not have gone the places I have, seen the things I've seen, and met all the wonderful people I now consider friends without the kindness of strangers. I hope to be able to return the favor!

I definitely can teach you all about photography. I can show you a bit of violin or viola, if you're traveling with an instrument. I love NYC, especially my community in the Lower East Side, and would love to show you around.
