About Me

I'm an engineer, living in Tehran with my parents right now. I've studied in Europe and lived in Italy, Spain, France and United States. I love traveling if my corporate job allows. Very adventurous and love learning from others.
I love sports, and I played badminton for 20 years at national level league and tournaments. I also love woodworking and have a small workshop for myself.
As for my experience hosting, I've hosted several people but they're not on CS. They were either my friends or friends of someone I knew. But I've tried to help people who want to see my country as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to make friends from around the world. That's why I love the opportunities offered by using couch surfing. I see hosting and being a guest as a way to meet with diverse groups of people with different attitudes, ideas and philosophies. I love how these temporary communications changes the way I understand the world, and how they may lead to greater friendships from time to time.
There are several other reasons to be here: first of all, I do love travel and I prefer to experience each and every place I go with the people from there, to feel the city as an insider rather than a tourist. I would love to communicate with locals and go to different neighborhoods, etc.

And well, I live in a not so stable economy and my income is very limited. I do love alternative traveling options to manage my budget and at the same time be able to see the world.

Couch Surfing considerably adds value to my travels by letting me see more/do more, while letting me experience local environments, and know different people and make friends.

Interests

I've mostly worked as a systems engineer and complex systems designer in the field of space. I love woodworking and woodturning and have a small personal workshop.
I've been dancing for about three years. I was a badminton player for years before my shoulder injury. I've run a marathon after that and love trail running as well as hiking around in nature.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love jazz and indie , and also classical.
Very much into classical literature and novels. Now on my journey to read Ulysses of Joyce in English. Translated two books to Farsi before, though in the field of Social Sciences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've run a full marathon. I've seen the last shuttle launch from a tiny island in the ocean. I've made radio programs and been a guest on a live TV show. I camped in the Grampians national park and woke up among the Kangaroos.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy the process of learning, no matter the subject. I love to share my ideas if people want to know about my country, or have questions about rocket science. I can also teach you some dance steps. I love cooking for people if I have the time.
I know many cities in Iran if you want to visit the country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can definitely show them around in Tehran during the weekends, and help them plan their visit if I can not go myself. I can offer dinner and teach them what I know if they want:)
