About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find the true meaning of life.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I am 24 years old, currently living in Nashville, TN. I studied at the University of Memphis--just finish my Masters in Political Science. I have an odd obsession with cats, arts and crafts, and exploring new interests. I am creative and passionate about my ideas and goals. I got my BA in Political Science and History with a minor in International Studies in 2013. I spent my last semester of undergrad in Ifrane, Morocco and took an epic road-trip down the southern coast of Morocco for spring break! I love meeting new people and eating awesome food!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to go through life feeling, learning, engaging, and loving the many interactions, peoples, cultures, ideas, and trends. I love people with passions. I love to see that twinkle in their eyes when explaining their goals and opinions. It's such a beautiful thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I heard some friends talking about couch surfing as we were talking about backpacking Europe. So I searched it up on the web.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to couch surfing!

But I did spend an awesome weekend in Chicago with a couple of girls who hosted me for Lolla 2012! Great experience!!

Interests

Things that grab my attention... everything! I enjoy people watching a lot. I like to hear what others opinions on various topics even if their views do not match up with mine. I like to discover people's passions and what drives them. Currently, school is driving my life. I finished and published my honors thesis on the impactions of French nationalism on North African immigrants with a focus on the 2005 Riots.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books! I love reading. My favorite book of all times is "Death be not proud" by John Gunther. I also really enjoy really history and political science articles. One of my goals in life is to write a new international relations theory.

Music! I really do love all kinds of music...at its right time and place. Favorite bands include: The Black Keys, the xx, Adele, Coldplay, Modest Mouse and oh! I'm a sucker for Lady Gaga when she comes on the radio. Feel free to add me on Last.fm http://www.last.fm/user/MiuMiu172

I'm not too big on movies. I mean, I like them but I just don't have the patience to sit through them. It's really sad when my friends make movie references and I'm completely clueless.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On top of this list would be spend my spring break in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. Though I didn't speak Portuguese, I thoroughly enjoy the experience. I met so many people there and discovered so many new things and also found more about myself.
Number two on my list is when I found my passion for fighting to end gender inequality, youth empowerment, and working internationally. This was discovered through the combination of college and my work at Multi-National Ministries, a non-profit that strives to connect with refugees and immigrants in the city of Memphis.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm still relatively young so I don't know how much I can add to you. But I'm a fun loving person with strong leadership skills and have opinions on almost anything! haha
