Hey! I'm Maica,
I live in a student home with 13 other roommates in the city centre of Tilburg. I'm a very sociable person who loves meeting new people.
I talk and laugh a lot and I'm always up for a good conversation with a nice cold beer in the garden or a party with friends.

My goal in life is to become a journalist who reports about complex situations from all over the world in the most simple way. To make it easy for a lot of different people to digest news.
I'm currently in my first year studying to become a journalist and heading to Cologne in a week!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

With school I'm coming to Cologne from May 30 up until the second of June. Looking for a place to stay and for people to show me around. Our goal is to create a unique view of the people in Cologne. So if you want to show me and my friend around hit me up!

I think it's a shame that I've never been outside of Europe so I take this as a chance to meet people from all over the world to tell me stories and talk about their journeys and background.

I think it's refreshing to have someone stay over once in a while, and I want to go couchsurfing in other parts of the world as well. It's a shame that I'm a student and not that great at saving money, but I hope I get there as soon as possible!

Interests

I'm a person of contradictions. I love reading a book just as much as driving to a hidden place in the woods to go to a secret party.
I also love going out regularly, and keeping track of new exhibits at my favorite museums.
My camera was my biggest purchase, unfortunately I use it way too little.
Besides that I'm always trying to find new and undiscovered bars or coffee places to take my friends to.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Picture of Dorian Gray, and I have watched Donnie Darko more than is good for me.
My taste in music, on the other hand is very diverse. I enjoy reggae as much as I do Classic music (and anything in between, really)
I go to drum and bass and dubstep parties regularly, but also love a quiet night going to an open mic in a local bar.
Currently I'm really into funk, disco and r&b.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed an abandoned church once. (I dont think this really counts as amazing but I cant really think of anything else at the moment. I will update this when I think of something but chances are I'll forget this section even exists)
