About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Extend and strengthen my connection with the world, people and nature alike. Find myself as I travel the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm aspiring to be a writer, but feel like I haven't known enough and felt enough of the world, so I travel and meet people! One day the "not-yet" will become "why-not" and I'll start writing for a living (HOPEFULLY...). So yes, whoever you are, I'm excited to see you soon!

PHILOSOPHY

I keep finding myself a contradiction to any philosophy I want to believe in, so meh! Let me grow up a little bit more first!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I knew about Couchsurfing when I first went to college in the U.S. 3 years ago -- and I didn't come here just to study (no you're not stereotyping Asians I beg of you...)! And I can't count on anything but Couchsurfing hosts's generosity to afford myself the chance to explore the country and learn more of what I never knew of!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience with couchsurfing was unforgettable. Me and two of my friends found some awesome, super nice and funny hosts in Philly. We got to listen to the music they make - actually a new album that they would be touring the country to perform soon! We cooked together one night and talked about different cultures we've known of. They really taught me about the true spirit of a traveler!

Interests

I love writing, I used to practice writing a lot, mostly fiction, but I'm trying my luck with poems recently. I might or might not write about love, but mostly, love.

Cooking is my stress-relief therapy. I usually cook oriental food, but I'm also learning to bake!

I started learning photography half a year ago, and have been in love with it so much since then. I generally prefer black-and-white over color. View some of the photos I took for a class here https://www.flickr.com/photos/117400969@N03/

One last word, I'm a cat-and-dog person, and a coffee person.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read mainly fictions, both contemporary and classic. Kinda odd but I LOVE juvenile books and their super duper cute illustrations! Currently Haruki Murakami is the only one I'm deeply into.

For a typical night, Beatles, Queens, Pink Floyd
Damien Rice, Rufus Wainwright, Leonard Cohen, Kings of Convenience,...would make me happy!

I have an easy movie taste though-- I enjoy almost all movies. To pick some most favorites, I would say Forrest Gumps and comedy series like FRIENDS or How I Met Your Mother!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba-dove in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The scene was so amazing and almost magical, especially when it's noon and the sun was illuminating the water body. I did it twice in a row!

Oh, and I survive 4 months in South Korea without knowing a single Korean word...Thank you Google Translate and body languages!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of jokes (I don't guarantee they're all good though but at least I try haha)

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
