About Me

well, let the information game begin :) as you have seen, my name is maike, I am 27 years old and live in germany. I just finished my bachelor studies and am now translator and interpreter for english, french and german :) as you can see by this choice of study, I am very fond of languages and therefore love to travel!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that there is nothing better to travel the world by meeting the people who populate it! wherever i travelled, i always got to know many many people and they are the very best souvenirs of a good trip!

Interests

languages. people. countries. the world.
for me this is it in a nutshell, but since you might be a little more curious about the person you may host, here is something more: i love to be outdoors, i hate being locked inside when it is too cold or to rainy. i love to party as much as i love to spend hours just laying on a bench reading a book. i love to engage in discussions about everything the human mind has to offer!

Music, Movies, and Books

i mostly listen to electro, mostly downtempo like bonobo or zero 7, but i love to listen to some jazz and blues from time to time as well! for books it is quite hard to tell, everything from children literature to sadistic thrillers :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

depends on the interpretation of amazing, but what I was thinking of when I read this question is my 2 year stay in australia. In the first year I was visiting the country, traveling around in a huge and very old backpacker van I had bought. I slept in the australian desert, snorkeled in the great barrier reef, got almost hurt by some crocodiles in west australia, lived on water and coconuts for almost a week and met some of the most amazing people I can think of. the second year I settled down and worked as a bartender in sydney, which was a little bit less exciting than the first trip but still awesome!

Teach, Learn, Share

teach me everything! i am eager to learn. i might teach you how to survive on coconuts :))

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Germany
