I'm a 21 year old law student who is currently living in the city of Hamburg. I originally come from a small town in western Germany, where I used to live with my parents and my two sisters. Some of my qualities include being open and curious in life, being flexible and adapting to changing conditions and being very organised.

Tengo 21 años y estoy estudiando derecho en la ciudad de hamburgo en Alemania. Originalmente soy de una ciudad pequeña en Alemania, donde vivía con mis padres y mis dos hermanas. En general soy una persona muy amistosa y curiosa en la vida. También me adapto rapidamente a mi entorno y soy muy organisada.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling, and one of the things I enjoy the most about it is that it enables me to meet people from different backgrounds and exchange experiences with them. That is why for me, couchsurfing is the ideal way to meet locals and indulge in a culture. Although I'm currently not able to host anyone due to the fact that I live in a small place by myself, I would love to receive fellow travellers in my home once this condition changes.

Me encanta viajar y una de las cosas que me gusta lo más es la posibilidad de conocer gente de diferentes origenes y intercambiar experiencias con ellos. Por eso, couchsurfing para mi es la manera ideal de conocer locales y emerger en una cultura nueva. Aunque en el momento vivo en un departamento muy pequeño y no puedo acomodar otros viajeros, me encantaría recibir visitas en mi domicilio cuando las condiciones cambien.

Interests

I'm a passionate music lover, I play the piano and the cello and I have worked in a chilean arts school as a volunteer for a year after finishing school. I also enjoy dancing, especially classical ballet. Apart from that, I enjoy learning new languages, because it gives me an entirely new perspective of a culture and enables me to be in contact with many people. In addition, I obviously enjoy travelling and and I've had the chance to go to many different places like New Zealand, France, Italy, Spain, Czech Republic, Portugal, Switzerland and many more.

Me encanta la música, toco el piano y el cello y después de terminar el colegio trabajé en una escuela de artes en Chile como voluntaria por un año. También me gusta bailar, sobre todo el ballet clásico. Aparte de eso, disfruto aprender idiomas nuevos, porque me da una perspectiva diferente de una cultura y me facilita ponerme en contacto con mucha gente. Adicionalmente, obviamente me encanta viajar y tuve la oportunidad de ver muchos lugares distintos como Nueva Zelanda, Francia, España, Portugal, República Checa, Suiza y muchos más.

Music, Movies, and Books

The kind of music that I love the most is classical music as this is the music that I play the most. Some of my favourite composers include Bach, Debussy, Dvorak and Tschaikowsky . Buthaving lived in Chile for a year I've also come to enjoy latin american music, especially Salsa - although I also love a good cueca, which I've had the chance to learn here. I watch a lot of different kinds of movies, but the ones I usually enjoy the most are dramas or science fiction, like The Hunger Games, a preference that also applies to my reading tastes.

El tipo de música que más me gusta es música clásica porque es lo que toco lo más. Unos de mis componistas favoritas incluyen Bach, Debussy, Dvorak y Tschaikowsky. Pero como he vivido en Chile por un año, empezaba a querer la música latina, en especial la Salsa - aunque también me encanta la Cueca, que podía aprender aquí. Veo muchos tipos distintos de películas, pero las que me gustan lo más son las de drama y de ciencia ficción, por ejemplo Los Juegos del Hambre, una preferenia que también aplica a mis gustos de leer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most life-changing experience that I ever made was the year I spent living with an amazing chilean host family and working in a music and arts school after finishing school. I had the possibility to meet impressive people who had an entirely different approach to life, which I admired deeply, and bond with them over the passion that we shared. During this year, I also had the opportunity to get to know several Couchsurfers from different South American countries which enabled me to get a better understanding of the culture and made me enjoy my stay even more.

La experiencia que más cambió mi vida era el año que pasé viviendo con una familia maravillosa en Chile y trabajando en una escuela de música y artes después de terminar el colegio. Tenía la posibilidad de conocer a gente impresionante que tiene una manera completamente distinta de ver las cosas y encontrar una conexión con ellos por la pasión para la música que compartimos. Durante el año, también tenía la oportunidad de conocer Couchsurfers de países distintos de Latinoamerica en mis viajes, lo que me facilitó entender mejor la cultura de ese continente y disfrutar más de mi estado allá.

Teach, Learn, Share

I as a musician am always willing to teach my instruments or simply spend an evening singing by a campfire. Also, I enjoy teaching languages and would be ready to help with english and german. Apart from that, coming from Germany I am happy to share my knowledge about the country and my culture.

Yo como músico siempre estoy dispuesto a enseñar mis instrumentos o simplemente pasar una noche cantando y compartiendo en una fogata. También me gusta enseñar idiomas, puedo ayudar con inglés y aleman. Aparte de eso, como soy alemana, estoy feliz de compartir mis conocimientos del país y mi cultura.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy baking and cooking and would be delighted to take over the kitchen for a night to cook you some traditional german food. Apart from that, me and my travel companions love playing card games and are definitely going to bring some if you are up for it. Moreover, I love discussing and I am convinced that exchanging different perspectives on cultural issues is very intriguing.

Disfruto cocinar y hornear y me encantaría hacer una comida tradicional de Alemania para ti. Aparte de eso, a nosotros (yo y mis compañeras de viaje) nos gusta jugar cartas y definitivamente vamos a traer cartas por si a caso. Además me encanta conversar y estoy convencida que intercambiar distintas perspectivas de temas culturales es muy interesante.
