About Me

I'm a psychology student who somehow got into primatology. I like to travel the world, meet new people, see new places and collect funny, beautiful or thought-provoking experiences. The thing I value most in life is friendship. I like to drink good beer. I like to laugh but I also appreciate serious and meaningful conversations.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The most important thing for me about traveling is to get to know a new place as the people who live there experience it and not from a tourists viewpoint. I find that couchsurfing offers the perfect opportunity to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books

I pride myself on having the best and most exclusive taste in music which makes it very hard to lay down in a few sentences :D.

I like books that make you think whilst reading. An all time favorite of mine is The Great Gatsby. Recently I've really enjoyed Brave New World and The Art of Love ( I do like Fromm in general). And I really like Michael Endes book's. They have very interesting thoughts and ideas that make it worthwhile to re-read them as an adult.

I don't really have any favorite movies that stick but I recently enjoyed these:
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Im Labyrinth des Schweigens and Memento.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got up in the middle of the night and hiked to a floodplane in the middle of the zambian bush to watch the sunrise. There was mist over the planes and because of the dry season the grass was golden with little beads of dew on them. The sun made everything gleam and sparkle and I got to enjoy the spectacle with some good friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I recently learned some Bemba (a Bantu language mainly spoken in north-eastern Zambia but also in the DRC, Tanzania and Botswana). I'm very happy to share my hopefully growing knowledge about that.

If you want to visit Jena, I can show you all the important places, awesome cafes and where to go out!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a modest guest and I'm happy to help with anything. Also I can cook traditional Zambian food for you ;).
