About Me

I'm working as an electrical engineer and I like my job but I try to not totally get into the usual working flow where every day is the same. I'm happy to meet and host people and plan new trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love all the opportunities couchsurfing offers! I'm hosting and surfing since years, joining and organising meetings and hosting living room concerts.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experiences as traveler were in Czech Republic in 2009. I also surfed in Strasbourg and Istanbul, which is an amazing city and has a great couchsurfing community. I can only recommend going there!

Since 2009 I hosted a few people in Rostock and Leipzig. As I am a busy person, I do not often have time for hosting, but I always enjoy having guests from time to time!

As I enjoy going to cs events I organized some meetings in Leipzig which is also a very cool experience!

Interests

Using every free minute for meeting people and doing some stupid stuff :)
Exploring the secrets of the world.
Working in my new little garden and try to grow a lot of vegetables.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music! I'm listening to many stiles of music, starting with metal and rock, but also punk, ska and music with classical ascendancies. I'm always open for new music and enjoy visiting live bands!
Some of my favourite bands, just to mention a few of them:
SOAD, Tool, RATM, Pink Floyd, Tequilla and the Sunrise Gang, Meat Loaf.

Sice I started to study after work I unfortunately don't have time for reading novels. But I enjoyed a lot before that, some of my favorites are The Swarm from Frank Schätzing and I, Robot from Isaac Asimov.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My first backpacking trip with a friend through thailand... that was really amazing. only two weeks at all, but we felt as if it would have been 2 months! Followed by lots of great journeys including several months in North, South an finally Middle America, that you can follow at www.whereismaik.blogspot.de

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy cooking, and I often like to do this for my guests and hosts if I'll find time for it!
I'm not really good in talking english yet (not to mention my cruel spanish), but I really enjoy trying to improve it with couchsurfing, which is working quite good at the moment :)
