About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Starting a new life abroad!
ABOUT ME
I like having conversations - listening, talking, laughing a lot. Overall a rather bright personality, I guess; hardly anything actually upsets me.
I only moved to Maastricht recently, so I'm still sort of starting my life here.
PHILOSOPHY
Prejudices and fears regarding other cultures & ethnicities are something natural and very human... that's why it's important to make a conscious effort of keeping your mind open, though. Give people a chance.
And maybe better keep in mind that you might be scary to others, too ;P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
While I cannpt really host people I have always enjoyed the international meet-ups and such. During my time in Yokohama I used to help my Japanese friends showing around couchsurfers every now and then and I think that's also something I'd like to do here in Maastricht.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As I haven't really surfed any couches so far I can only speak of the local gatherings I have attended in different places and I can tell you I have met some awesome people this way that I became close friends with. Honestly, having to spend Christmas abroad and on my own the CS event was a true lifesaver!
Interests
Personally, I'm into languages/words, illustration & art, comic books, video games, music. Lately also photography (still such a beginner, heh).
That's just me, though, and I'm curious to hear about anything that might be tickling someone else's fancy as well. I like to learn about new things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have many friends of very different likes when it comes to music, movies etc., so I know and like lots of different things/there are many different genres I appreciate... Maybe a particular like for sci-fi movies and scary stuff.
As a favorite book I can name Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie.
I like to read a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having lived in Japan for a year as an exchange student as a teenager which changed my outlook on life.
Or more recently, six months that I have taken care of two little children as an au pair... it probably sounds silly and like such an obvious statement to make, but seeing them grow and develop bit by bit day by day has just been so mind-blowing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Lingual exchange, stories of experiences - to get to learn and discuss about all those different points of views and opinions is something so precious.
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Denmark, France, Poland, United States, Venezuela
