About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Follow the road wherever it takes me!

ABOUT ME

Hi! Hola! Bonjour! Dia dhuit!

My name is Mairéad. I'm qualified as a Spanish teacher here in Ireland and I love languages in general. I have worked in a high school in France and then worked over the summer in language camps in Germany! I'm teaching back home now, but that could change at any minute...always looking to expand my horizons.

About me hmmmm? I read a lot, I would like to travel more (funds permitting!), see new things and improve my language skills (maybe even learn a new language: have made the first steps recently with German!) I'm open-minded, curious and sometimes shy but love meeting new people all the same!

Ummm...that'll do I think, for now...Any questions just ask!

PHILOSOPHY

Why do you live your life? Pffft...that's deep. I guess I take each moment as it comes, enjoy it as much as I possibly can, and just keep on goin' on...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am interested in group outings, getting to know the local cultures, seeing all the touristic stuff and also the less touristy side of life when I travel. I want to meet new people and would love to participate in language exchanges.

Plus, if you are looking for someone to show you around Dublin, let me know. I'd be more than happy to help you discover the sights and life in Dublin!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Some language exchanges both in France and Ireland plus I was hosted in Germany in April 2013 and Spain during summer 2014...really great experiences and I am eager for more!

Interests

Reading, swimming, sunshine (not a lot of that in Ireland!), travelling, walking, hiking, listening to all types of music, baking, cooking (and eating lol), photography, random conversations, languages, sleeping and plenty of other random stuff...

Frank Ocean

Books: I devour books! Life without books wouldn't be a life at all. I am currently reading a couple of different books...A song of Ice and Fire (or Game of Thrones series), Cloud Atlas...and a French novel Ensemble c'est tout. Some of my favourite books include LOTR, The Book Thief, Memoirs of A Geisha, We Need To Talk About Kevin, Charlaine Harris novels (Tru Blood series)and more

Movies are also a passion of mine from classic 80s films like The Goonies and Labyrinth to more recent films like Slumdog (or anything directed by Danny Boyle) and foreign films (big Guillermo el Toro fan)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in cave pools in Turkey...the water was so unbelievably cold but amazing experience!
