I'm a funny, laid back guy who is easy to get on with. I'm openminded but skeptical, I'm opinionated but not dogmatic, I like to drink but hate hangovers, I love women but don't understand them, I like to cook but hate washing up, I like music but I can't play, I enjoy sport but I'm lazy, I love sleep but hate going to bed. I won't kill your cat or try to sleep with your Mum! :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had an amazing time in South America. Met wonderful surfers in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil. Couch surfing is a great way to meet local people and have more interesting experiences. Sometimes staying in hostels is a little boring. I try to host as much as I can but am usually quite busy with work. Try me you may be lucky!

Music, Movies, and Books

TV and Movies
I adore Deadwood and The Wire. Other good stuff 24, Madmen, Breaking Bad. I like comedies. Absurd and dark humour like Monty Python and The Big Lebowski.

Music
At heart I´m an old time rocker e.g. The Doors, Rolling Stones, The Who, Hendrix, Dylan etc.
I love traditional Irish music and wish I could play. I like a lot of British bands The Smiths, Pulp, Artic Monkeys, Radiohead, Richard Hawley. Can't forget the great Irish bands U2, The Pogues, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher. Getting into Electronic music recently.

Books
In fiction I prefer good writing to good stories but take both where I can: Graham Greene, Kazuo Ishiguro, Arthur Conan Doyle, J.M. Coetzee. The great Irish writers like John McGahern, Flann O' Brien, Anne Enright, James Joyce, Beckett, Seamus Heaney.....
Favourite books at the moment The English patient, Disgrace, Out Stealing Horses, Remains of the Day.
Soft spot for sports books and autobiographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in the Oval office at the White House as part of a press event and got to see President Obama.
