Overview
About Me
(Beware, I'm about to drop a cliché line - or two) I've never been really good at describing myself but let's give it a go! I'm a very talkative person, I can be a bit blunt at times and I like chats to flow and go off on a tangent (aren't those the best kind of conversations?).
Situations I enjoy: meeting new people and getting past small talk; learning interesting customs from other cultures and also learning about their history; having people change my mind or make me reconsider my opinion about certain topics (I tend to be very stubborn).
I love cracking jokes (specially the type that make me laugh) and banter. That's kind of the simplest way to connect with other people!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This is a great place to share experiences, laughs, conversations and moments. I haven't been able to use it as much as I would like to, nor have I been able to host anyone yet, but insofar it's been fun! It allows you to be part of the whereabouts you happen to be in and it makes it a much more authentic experience. Where else could you learn about a tiny bar in a shady street that sells incredible local craft beer? Or about an old bookstore in outside the center where you can spend hours reading? (Okay, you're right. Some blogs may be doing that, but that's besides the point).

There are many things that I'd like to get into at the moment, but they'll have to wait!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love reading all sorts of books, although I'm not so keen on sci-fi and romantic novels (change my mind?). My most recommended book is The Road Less Travelled by Scott Peck; it's a self-help book so if you take my word make sure you are in the right moment. It made me become aware of certain aspects of myself that I have to work on and that's where I am right now.
I listen to all kinds of music but my all-time favorites are (after Basque folk, I love small town jaias) Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, Fela Kuti. Smaller, newer, artists such as Iseo, Ibeyi or Dawta G have made it to the regular soundtrack, too. NPR and KEXP are great platforms where to discover new music!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm in the midst of learning many things, so let's see where our conversations take us and what we can learn from each other.
