About Me

I currently live in Bern in Switzerland, but I am often away somewhere for short improvised travels, both for work (conferences, workshops, and so on) or just privately.

I am an easy person and I like traveling a lot. I enjoy eating all sorts of food, partying (with electro and techno music especially, but I like also all other sorts of music), doing sports, or just being lazy :-).

Also, I can be quite creative and like to paint/draw/create. I organize painting nights around once a month in my current hometown Bern (in Switzerland), where I provide some basic art tools like colors and paper for everyone, and drinks, as well as some snacks, are also usually available. The atmosphere is familiar and welcoming: be pArt of the Art, and feel free to join!

During the warm season (from late spring to early fall), I am outdoors a lot. I love to do crazy bike-tours, and crazy open-water swims in lakes and in the sea. My longest swim so far was 8 Km in the Gulf of the Poets, in Italy. And of course, I love hiking up mountains, or just being outside to collect stuff like cherries, mushrooms and so on. I also enjoy to dance at parties, and I do some contact improvisation dance from time to time.

I am currently working as a researcher at the botanical garden of Berne, working on ex-situ plant conservation. If you want to know more, just ask! It is an interesting topic :-D. I studied Biology because I love nature, plants, animals and because there are so many amazing things in nature.
I also like everything related to maths and numbers, I have some skills in programming and statistics and aim to improve them in the next years.

I'm also interested in LGBT communities around the world, in queer culture and how LGBT is perceived in different settings, in LGBT rights and woman rights in the different countries I visit.

Something I relate to:

All das was du siehst ist deine Heimat."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because it is a cool way to get in touch with people, with new cultures, with new ideas.
