About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel around the world, find odd jobs, make music, learn about the world and myself, meet new friends, have a good time, help the world where I can.

ABOUT ME

I am a recent college graduate with an interest in adventuring and exploring the world. My biggest hobbies include trying new things, seeing new places, playing music with friends (I play piano, some guitar, mandolin, a bit of harmonica), visiting museums, learning new languages and having interesting conversations. I'm currently very interested in learning more about human evolution and am hoping to apply to go to graduate school soon to study evolutionary psychology.

UPDATE: I am now in the peace corps in Cameroon teaching science for two years starting in August 2016. I would love to have visitors and show you some of real Cameroon (or as much as I know it haha).

PHILOSOPHY

Hmmm.... how about enjoy life, stay positive, experience as much as possible and keep an open mind?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Travelling and meeting people, sometimes asking for a place to stay in the past, and now I want to open my home to give back for all of the times I've been hosted in the past.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met many good people couchsurfing around the world and have kept in touch with several of them. It has always been a good experience for me and I look forward to the next awesome people I meet!

Interests

Music (listening and playing), ultimate frisbee, learning, travelling, meeting new people (of course!), animals, jazz, new cultures, biology, books, community, helping the world, the outdoors, hiking, climbing, sustainability, the environment, etc.....

Music, Movies, and Books

For music - I love all sorts of music like Blues, Jazz, Makossa, Bluegrass, Rock, etc.... Hozier, the Arctic Monkeys, Stromae, Miles Davis, Chris Thile, Nickel Creek, Atmosphere, but really just exploring new music and new sounds.

My favorite movies are often comedies or ones that make you think a lot. Let me think... I also like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Hunger Games, and a lot of kids movies. I mostly watch TV shows though like Parks and Recreation or New Girl or Friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled to Sudan to see my mother's side of the family for the first time. I went with some cousins from Addis Ababa on a road trip across the Ethiopian border to Khartoum. It was an amazing, beautiful adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching - I could teach someone music, like how to play piano or Mandolin. I could teach about biology or about the USA.

Learning - I would love to learn more languages and about other cultures. It is always fun for me to see other customs and the slight differences between different ways of life.

Share - We could share awesome moments adventuring, exploring new places and just having good conversations in cafés.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could share my experiences, I could share my knowledge of America, I could share moments of music, I could share good conversation.
