About Me

Hello! I am Maja, an 18 years old from a beautiful country - Slovenia.
I’m just a casual teenager with many interests, the main one, being traveling. That’s actually the reason I’ve recently joined Couchsurfing, duh! :D
Besides traveling (which I do quite a lot) and attending senior year of high school, I love to take photos of people and places I visit.
I’m an outgoing, sociable, friendly, spontaneous, optimistic and talkative girl. Being around people makes me happy. I love to talk about places I’ve visited and also listen to other people talking about the amazing adventures they’ve been to.
I don’t like people being mean behind someone’s back, that’s why I am honest and I always try to tell the truth, without offending them.
I feel like we are all given time, to spend it however we want it to. My plan is to spend it efficiently by traveling, meeting new people and trying out new and exciting things. I like to use 5 seconds rule, which helps me to decide about something, without my brain loudly overthinking it. With that my life is way more exciting and spontaneous. I don’t like to plan my activities in advance, because I think things happen for a reason and if something is meant for me to happen, it’s going to happen.
I’ve been following a YouTube channel called YesTheory for a very long time, so their motto “Seek discomfort,” is also one of my main mottos that drives me.
I love to spend my money for experiences, rather than material goods. After all, experiences are the ones that will stay with us till the end. Regret is not something I would like to think about, when I grow up and look back at my life.
That’s a brief summary about me. I hope it was helpful :).

If you are wondering why I’m not approved by the Couchsurfing, the reason being is, that I don’t want to pay for it. I would rather buy a plane ticket.

You can also check out my instagram: @maja_ravbar if you want to make sure that I’m a real person, haha :D

Thanks for reading all of that! :’)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m couchsurfing because that’s the best way to experience new culture and place. Also it’s the best opportunity to connect with new people and build strong friendships for life.

I've been hosted 4 times during my Erasmus+ exchanges and I like its concept.

Also, locals know so much more than internet.

Another thing, it’s the way to travel on a budget. If you are a student or even if you’re not, you know how hard it is to travel with not a lot of money.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen and watch literally everything I find. I like books about personal growth and marketing: Think Rich Grow Rich, Millionaire Success Habits, Way of the wolf, Crushing it!,...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I’ve been very active in Erasmus+ exchanges at my school. The opportunity I was given lead me to Portugal, Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina. I’ve been introduced to family hosting and I love it. I think staying with locals is so much better. It makes it easier to get to know the culture and people living there.

I’ve also been a host to foreign students and friends myself. I have actually hosted 4 times and I am planning on doing more. But not right now, because I am still living with my parents :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about my country and our culture. I’m willing to tell you all about my experiences while traveling and all in between. I would love to hear your stories.

We can learn so much from other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring you something from Slovenia. I can share the stories from my lets say, short life :).

I am also very interested in photography, so we can take some photos :)
