About Me

Hi everybody!

Let's erase most of the old profile and write an update after all these years and in this new city/country/continent! Okay, same continent this time.

In March 2020 I wrote: "Just started a new adventure as an Aupair in a German family in Brussels (arrived early March 2020), focusing on my foreign languages (German, English, French and soon learning Dutch) and hopefully experimenting some new stuff in international/intercultural fields as well as politics, etc. for my future carrier.
Beside my native Persian, I speak good German, used to speak English pretty well🙈, must review my (upper-)intermediate French and will start my first Dutch course."
Even though Corona made everything totally different from expected, but it became an unforgettable, very fruitful experience and Brussels became my second home.

During my high school, I was going to study classical music (piano). This passion motivated me to learn more foreign languages and the key to learn language is nothing but "exchange". I slowly made more and more friends/language partners from other countries and this slowly woke up my passion for languages, intercultural/international exchanges and at the next level, humanities and social sciences in general and politics and international relations in particular.

So, that's what I will be soon studying in Germany! But first, I have to visit the college in Leipzig before. That's why I moved here early February 2021.

I would say I'm an open-minded lifelong learner and a positive, fun conversational partner who loves Yoga and sports especially outdoors. You do can spend a lot of time with me while running, cycling, discovering the natural surroundings or simply walking around this city and talking.

I used to be a good cook in Iran but after the big cultural shock with the nutrition in Belgium and then in Germany, I definitely need some recovery time to get my skills back :) Let's give it a try!

As somebody who speaks/learns 4 European languages beside his native Farsi (okay, Dutch is out now), you could probably imagine my eagerness to discover more and more from anything in these regions. Languages, dialects, people, cultures and traditions, nature and so on. So, I guess I could be that kinda guy who is always up for a short backpacking during the weekend, let's see:)

Unfortunately, I've been in this green Continent only during the bad times of the covid-19 pandemics, since March 2020, and haven't really seen much from the cities, the people, the cultural scene, and so on. Different times will definitely come soon.....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To keep discovering new horizons. To learn from those who are "different" from me!

I believe there are countless various things we could do. For instance: I'm neither Christian nor religious but I can't wait to discover some churches here, just as an example:) (Update: That was about Brussels. Recently discovered the Thomaskirche in Leipzig with its magnificent organ, on which Johann Sebastian Bach used to play!)

Music, Movies, and Books

As mentioned, I'm an absolute music enthusiast. Enjoyed playing piano at home (hope I will also have one here) and singing classical and folk songs whenever I am alone at home, searching for a choir at this new city and actually wanted to study classical music first. Beside folk songs (particularly German ones), I've been trying to get out of my "classical bubble" and to discover other genres and other sounds of music from all around the world as well. Country, Rock, Jazz, Pop, and for active times (especially for sport!) Dance, Techno and house music. So, classical remains the first passion, but please don't hesitate to share your playlists or favorite songs with me!

Books: Mostly history, politics, languages at the moment. Some sociology, philosophy, psychology, trying 20th century novels, and in Belgium obviously comics! A big fan of audiobooks and podcasts by the way (well, mostly since Corona)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning programming at school.

Teaching German as a foreign language in Tehran.

Having lived in 3 countries during the pandemic year of 2020!

Teach, Learn, Share

Languages, singing, dancing, a glass of French red wine, cooking, making music, sports and nature, leisure and only if you are interested too, discussions.

I'm basically a flexible and open person who loves trying new things and finds some attraction in almost anything. Don't hesitate to ask me to join you in your own interests!
