Hope you are doing well!

My name is Maja and until last summer I studied Arts Culture and Media in Groningen, the Netherlands where I stayed for 3 years. After my graduation I decided to take a break from university, earn some money and go traveling!

On the 16th of June I will be departing for a half a year (or longer) trip, starting in Singapore. The countries I will visit next are Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and maybe the Philippines.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and since I will be traveling alone I feel like Couchsurfing could be a great place for me to make new friends in these awesome places that I will be visiting.

Interests

I really like discussing and finding out about the cultures, political situations, and lifestyles of the people I encounter. I enjoy dogspotting, cloudspotting and stargazing; constantly in awe of the nature and people's creativity. Always down to visit an art museum!
I'm also passionate about music and film, happy to debate and exchange recommendations, or go to a live music venue or a techno party!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to new music all the time and the list of films I want to watch and books I want to read extends every week :D
I enjoy all kinds of music, from jazz, soul and funk, through hip-hop, indie, alternative rock, punk, post-punk, both classics and new releases. Electronic music has a special place in my heart; experimental, deep house, ebm and industrial techno are among my favorites.
Films I watched recently that I liked a lot are 'Run Lola run', 'Shoplifters', 'Boy', and 'Minding the gap'.
