ABOUT ME

I think I'm fun. I hope everyone else thinks I'm as fun as I think I am. It's okay if they don't. But I think they do.

When I made this profile five years ago I was rebuilding a motorcycle to ride from Texas to Seattle. That was one of dozens of ambitions I've pursued in my life. The most current, most practical, and most successful thus far has been a career in medicine. In this pursuit I have joined the Army and worked my ass off as a full time nursing student. After RN I'd like to do BSN and then most likely, medical school. Whether or not I ever made it to doctor, I want to utilize my skills all over the world to preserve and empower the lives of people who've got no resources to do it on their own.

Hitchhike to Syria, anyone?

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well sadly it's been about two years since I've had a chance to participate at all, but I have hosted, been hosted, traveled and hung out with fellow couch surfers. Now that my life has settled down some I'm excited to get more involved. I think this concept is truly brilliant.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a couple of times and it was AWESOME. I love having people stay over because it's like traveling without leaving home in a way. They come with their stories and gifts and dialects and energies and leave my life a little richer than it was before. Even before I learned about Couchsurfing.com I stayed on couches dozens of times- friends, family and even a few friendly people who saw me and my frame pack and opened their doors to me. What a fantastic idea to turn that concept into a worldwide resource.

If I have a conversation with someone about anything I will most likely buy a book about it the next day and list it as a hobby within a week. I just like stuff. I like people. I like the world. I like being alive.
