My name is Makela (she/her), a Filipina-American medical doctor! I love meeting other folks and getting to know who they are as people / how they operate / how they perceive the world. Traveling is something I am keen on whenever I have free time during my medical training. I'm an outdoorsy, open-minded, curious person and am always down to groove or play. Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Living with host families in Argentina showed me that I loved having a local connection to these cities- it fostered a more genuine appreciation of the places I was living in and learning about and falling in love with.

I Couchsurfed a lot while traveling around Southeast Asia in 2016. Because of Couchsurfing I have incredible memories and, most importantly, wonderful friends that I still keep in touch with to this day! While I am slightly nomadic now (I'll be in Tucson, Arizona for 2022-2023 and the San Francisco Bay Area from 2023-2026) I want to be able to return the favor and give back to this incredible community :)
