About Me

I´m Jan, a calm , friendly and relaxed person, at least this is how friends describe me. They also say that rarely nothing could upset me, what i think it´s true.

Actually i‘m doing a big biketour with my girlfriend Maryam. We started at end of march in Berlin. Our aim is to ride as far as possible to the east until we maybe reach Mongolia. So we come with bicycles.

Most time of the year i´m looking forward to my next Journey, so i spend also a lot of time with planing, thinking and dreaming. What doesn't´t mean that i´m lazy, i just prefer the system working for living instead of live for working.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think the only way to discover a country is to stay with their people. I wan´t to see how other people spend their lifetime and i hope i learn a lot and will meet new friends in doing so.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago i was hiking in an national park in Ecuador. I planed to be 3 days on the way, after one day i got lost because i din´t found the marking, which were purple colored rocks. So i camped where i was stuck and walked around, swearing and grumbling and trying to find this damn rock !
After two more day´s on the peak off my desperation i fall over stone ,...over a purple stone.
This was one of the most lucky moments in my life !

What I Can Share with Hosts

One of my main reason i love traveling is discovering new food and meals ! So if you show me your favorite local meal i will cook some german delicacies. (i don´t eat meat, but you will be surprised that the german kitchen is more than just sausage)
