Overview
About Me
I have a passion for art. I play with spaces, vision, musical notes and words.
During my free time, I draw doodles on paper and paint on canvases. This liberates my mind. I do not like too many considerations, hence I paint without any pencil drafts. In the past, a series of pottery were sculpted and I enjoyed the process. I have attended Chinese calligraphy courses since year one. The School of Chinese invited me to design and typeset a book last summer. Composing instrumental or orchestral pieces is my leisure hobby too. Music is somehow parallel to architecture.
Paying attention to everyday details, I like to implement crazy ideas derived from the landscape, integrating nature into the urban fabric. Landscape architecture taught me to be both practical and innovative to solve realistic problems. At the University of Hong Kong, I learnt the essential design skills for developing a project, construction technology and GIS.
As I am interested in writing, my creative output also touches on poems, short stories and proses. They reflect the ebbs and flows of a typical Hongkong metropolitan life. The works are mainly in Chinese, sometimes in English, and published in literary magazines. I hope to stimulate people thinking about themselves and others, making the world better. I attained 5**, the highest grade in Hong Kong DSE Exam for Chinese writing and English. Learning the Italian language at the university further enabled me to gain a new cultural perspective. For these two years, I have achieved A or A+ in Italian grammar courses.
I am eager to create new naturalistic and social places in foreign places for people to remind of. My science and mathematics background at high school motivated me to coordinate my designs across disciplines. The exchange would be a fun time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing allows me to view the world in a different perspective and meet new people. Saving money is also important as I cannot afford too expensive accommodation.
I decided to have a 3-week summer course in mainland China and a semester-long exchange in Australia. It would broaden my horizons in spatial design and immerse me in a different visual culture. I believe the exchange programmes would level up my creative inspirations, not only by getting to meet different colleagues, florae and faunae totally exotic to Hong Kong, but also nice hosts. I want to explore the cities more by staying with the hosts and go around.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love my own music compositions.
I don't quite watch movies.
It is a pity to say that I spent less time reading since getting into the uni.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I wrote a symphonic poem of 11 minutes long, and some Cantonese songs too.
Spent a night alone in Lane Cove Park unprepared. Hugged a tree.
