About Me
Hello everyone! My name is Malachy, pronounced Ma-la-kai ( the spelling is a little funny but I like it) either way, my friends call me Mal. At present, I am travelling around Europe with my good friend from back home. We both decided to take gap years (thus deferring our university acceptances), I took one mainly because I wanted to travel, and because I was still uncertain what I wanted to study and where I wanted to study. I really want to meet some awesome people and connect with them, and either have them join me on my journey or join them on there's. I am thinking of trying a workaway or wwoofing, and after Europe I would love to go to Nepal, Southeast Asia and japan (I've been dying to go here). I love food, drinking coffee meeting new people, playing sports/doing physical activity and going on adventures. My favourite place in the entire world is the mountains! Here's a little more info about me if your curious. I am 18 years old (male) from Toronto, Canada, I've lived in the same house my entire life with a fantastic family consisting of my mom, dad and sis. Growing up my major interests were always sports, like honestly the majority of sports, but my main focus was hockey and snowboarding in the winter ( I know so Canadian lol). I have played competitive hockey just about my entire life and I am a certified snowboard instructor. I have also played ultimate my entire life which I love, and I also really like all racket sports. From a young age I've been very interested in travel, other cultures and geography, back in elementary school I use to study atlases for hours at a time, and got lonely planet books for my birthdays. Other then sports and geography my main hobbies are hanging out with friends (which back home I do almost daily), when we hangout we do a plethora of things so it's honestly not worth explaining. In school I really like mathematics (namely calculus), and biology, as such I decided to go into a General Science program at UBC, because I am interested in a lot of things but don't really know what I want, so this program allows me to specialize in either second or third year. I am also interested in law, but admittedly am not very good at it. I really like reading, I really like mystery/crime novels, and use to be addicted to anime. I have been fortunate enough to travel quite a bit throughout my childhood, going out west to BC/Alberta almost every summer, and going to the states (mainly Arizona) every christmas. In grade 7 my dad took a sabbatical, and I travelled all over Europe and Sri Lanka. OK that's more then enough personal history....hope no one got to bored. Hope that was helpful and informative!
