Hello I’m Malaurie, I’m 21 and I’m from France! I have been in the United States as an au pair since October 2017. I was in Cheyenne, Wyoming for the first ten months and a half and then I was an au pair in Menlo Park in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had two amazing host families, and I was so lucky to see two very different parts of this incredible country! My contract as an au pair has ended, and I’m going to travel for a few weeks before going back home to France. I’m a little nostalgic to leave this country that really felt like home to me for the last (almost) two years... but also excited for the new chapter awaiting for me in France! I’m going to study in Lyon in September! 🇫🇷📚
I had the chance to see a lot of the West Coast during my time here which is why I want to see the East Coast for my last moments here! Well first I’m going to Yellowstone National Park, ( it has been a dream for me to go there!) After that, my destinations are Miami, Washington DC, Boston and New York City where I will take my flight back to France! 🇺🇸✈️🇫🇷
I’m a very smiling person, I love to talk, I love to visit, go out and see new places, but I’m also perfectly fine with a good book, movie or an interesting conversation as long as there is food involved! 👌🏻
I practiced a lot of activities when I was younger, the most important is dance which I took lessons of for 15 years! I love sports, mostly outdoors or collective! I don’t practice a lot anymore, but I hope to start again once I go back to France! I’m not into sport competitions but let’s not talk about soccer okay? For all of our sakes? I’m very serious about the French soccer team ⚽️
I’m trustworthy, natural, funny, caring, and positive! I can adapt myself very easily to anything! I am very respectful of the environment and I strongly believe that we all have our part in saving the planet!
Family and friends are very important to me, and I may be very independent, but I know I need people I care about around me! The most important people to me are my little sister who is 19 and my little brother who is 10! Actually I’m going home on his birthday and surprising all my family! 😁
I don’t mind pets and love them! I may be a little more distant if it has scales or mucus, but I’m a very open minded person!💪🏻

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It’s my first time on couchsurfing, I know I don’t have and references so far, but there has to be a beginning at some point right?
I heard a lot of good about it! I’m a person who loves to exchange, meet new people, and I also want to enjoy my last days in the US with people that live here, and feel for one last time the generosity, the kindness and the positivity of Americans!
