Overview
About Me
I'm new to couchsurfing! Social media = instagram.com/malcnyc and facebook.com/malcolm.ring , so I'm sorry that my profile doesn't have references but i have to start somewhere! I'm always happy, always excited to learn or try something new. I grew up in NYC and now I live in Brooklyn. I'm love running, electronic music (deep house, techno, minimal), healthy eating, hiking, nightlife, outdoor sports, meeting new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love traveling, often solo, but all too often I spend hours figuring out what to do, only to miss the local people and day-to-day life because end up in hostel with backpackers from neighboring countries (and Australia, of course). This is a crucial part of the experience.
Interests
Experiencing the vibrance of a place's modern life, more-so than touring churches and museums. In larger cities, I love to spend time in the artist/younger neighborhoods. I love to see how people live, and get less sleep while traveling in favor of staying busy during the day and going out at night. They are equally relevant in my mind.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: House+Techno (MK, Duke Dumont, Robin Schulz, Adam Beyer, Steve Angello, Lane 8, Oliver Heldens).
Movies: The Prestige, Gone Girl, Shutter Island (basically, dramatic movies with dark soundtracks and plot-twists that make sense when you go back to watch it a second time).
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a guest: a willingness to do whatever, an open mind, a desire to absorb and contribute. I can help around the house, go off on my own, or hang out.
In NYC: Knowledge of places to go and things to do that people NYC residents know. Food, drink, concerts, parties, galleries, exhibitions. I'm connected to lots of happenings throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn, all days of the week. There's a lot to do here.
