About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world and conquer what I can.

ABOUT ME

I studied abroad in Germany for the '08/'09 year studying mainly German, since I can't speak it very well. I love traveling and a big part of why I chose to study abroad in Germany was so that I could see Europe while I was there. Ideally, I'd love to write for a Travel Book company so I could get paid to travel and see the world. Maybe one of these days right...

I like to party and have a good time, but also enjoy a nice quiet day here and there reading or listening to music. If someone else is motivated enough though, I'm almost always game to try new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed and now I'd like to host when I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I Couchsurfed through Austria over the 2008 Christmas season. I slept in Marco's dungeon in Salzburg, slept in a great big bed and made merry with the locals with Herwig in Mittersil, and partied all night with Martin and Theresa in Hall after having Christmas dinner with Theresa's family. Thanks a lot everyone for an awesome Christmas experience.

April 7-14 I CouchSurfed through Interlaken, Switzerland. Stayed with some stand up Australians at Simons pad, and slept in a rock climbing attic at the Lazy Falken. All the while meeting new people and other CouchSurfers.

Interests

I love music and almost always have my iPod with me. I'm a big fan of Rap/Hip-Hop but not the crap that they play on the radio. I also like classic rock, a little metal, blues, folk, punk, just about everything besides R&B or Country (although some country isn't all that bad). I've also been rediscovering my love of reading as of late. Books are a most excellent way to pass those long train rides or boring classes.

As far as activities go I love the beach (classic Californian, I know) and a nice sunny day. Just walking around town in the sun is nice and relaxing to me. I've been known occasionally to go hiking, but I prefer to go "exploring" instead, sounds more interesting and usually is. I also like snowboarding, wakeboarding, skateboarding, and the random pick-up game of soccer. Unfortunately it seems I do most of those far too seldom.

Also, food. I love food. People don't believe me when I tell them that's an interest, but believe me it is. I like going to new places and trying all those foods that tourists (and even locals) think are disgusting or crazy. And of course, Burritos.

Music, Movies, and Books

Dark Tower Series by Stephen King, The Stand, Tolkien, Siddhartha, The Phantom Tollbooth, way too many to list really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to Thailand the summer after my senior year of High School with $2,000 and two of my best friends. I learned a lot in that short stay about other cultures and life in general.

I went Hangliding in Interlaken in April '09 and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach people how to be happier.
