Couchsurfing has recently become a B corporation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_corporation). This means funding by private organizations regardless of their label "philanthropy" (a private organization is a private organization, whatever they said ...). So in the longer term, it means publicity on the pages, even maybe the sale of our personal information for commercial purposes (it's illegal but ...) and why not imagine a future purchase by the big Facebook group? (Note that the Facebook logo appears more and more often on the pages of couchsurfing ... For nothing you think?)
