Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

growing as a person and as a musician

ABOUT ME

I'm a life-loving person, open and curious for people and new discoveries, and I try to learn and grow from every experience. I can never do anything half-hearted, I want to fully immerse myself in what I do, in good music, in deep conversations or in admiring beauty in nature. I love going on adventures and meeting new people, but to be balanced I also need to be by myself a lot and take some quiet time to recharge and contemplate, especially after a lot of action and socializing.

PHILOSOPHY

Collecting memories of blissful moments like jewels in a treasure box, kinda like the little mouse in my favourite children's story "Frederick", who collects colours, stories and sunrays to warm himself and others in cold times. Not being sad when something good is over, but being happy that it occured to me. Trying to find a lesson in everything that happens. Basically, just going with the flow of life and spreading some love on the way:)

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted quite a few people in Bremen, left this city in 2014 and after some intense months of travelling and volunteering in South America I moved to Regensburg, where I'm ready to host again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only great experiences so far! I'm happy and grateful that I had the opportunity to meet these wonderful people!!!

Intereses

Music is my life! I enjoy singing and playing the guitar and charango. Besides studying social work, music and dance pedagogy, I'm trying to develop as a singer songwriter (www.facebook.com/malegriamusic) and I love playing street music when the weather is nice:) Of course like almost everyone here on CS, I love travelling, exploring other cultures, meeting people from all over the world and learning from them!
I'm particularly interested in South America and it's people. I went to this beautiful continent two times, it's been 9 months altogether. In this time I travelled and worked in different projects. The best experience which totally changed my path in life, was to work in a social music project in Peru with the wonderful association "create your voice" (www.createyourvoice.org), which aims to empower young people by helping them develop their creative potential and express themselves through art and music.. I strongly believe in music as the universal language, it speaks directly to the hearts and therefore is a powerful weapon against the disease of ignorance in this world!

Música, películas y libros

Movies: The Celestine Prophecy, Amelié, The Notebook, Waking Life, Into the Wild, Dead Poets Society, Cloud Atlas, Samsara/Baraka, Finding Joe..
Music: a lot of different kinds...singer/songwriter, folk, world music, reggae, ska, latin, alternative rock, postrock, metal, classical music...anything that is authentic and somehow speaks to my soul. Some of the bands/artists I enjoy most are Chambao, Jameram, Wille and the Bandits, Rising Appalachia, Nahko Bear and My Medicine For the People, Fiona Apple, Gaby Moreno, Alice Phoebe Lou, Xavier Rudd, Manu Chao, Machine Head, Hammock, Gustavo Santaolalla, Olafur Arnalds, Ludovico Einaudi.
I really love discovering new artists and exchanging good music tips with others:)

Books: It often makes me feel desperate that there are SO many interesting books in this world, and I can't possibly read them all in a lifetime..I tend too read many books at a time. some of my favourite authors are Paulo Coelho, Erich Fromm, Hermann Hesse, Michael Ende.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Volunteering in Peru and travelling South America...I had the time of my life!
Living in Goa, India for a 6 months internship
Going on a street music tour through Portugal and Andalusia

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I can show you how to cook my favourite meals, or teach some basic guitar. I always enjoy sharing and playing music with others, to develop my skills! And I can practise English or German with you.
I would be happy to meet someone to practice Spanish with, I love the language and I miss it since I'm back in Germany..I really want to stick to it and improve my speaking skills!
