I am 24 years old and originally from Germany but have lived in France and other countries over the years as well.

***I will be coming to British Columbia, Vancouver and Vancouver Island, in the end of may and would love to connect with locals/travelers as I am planning to explore the area more and possibly go on a hiking trip for several days. I am especially interested in ecophilosophy, human-nature-relationships and interconnectedness, sustainable living, self-awareness, consciousness, etc etc. I have a bachelor´s degree in ecology and am currently in an orientation phase to see what I feel like doing next. I love going on hikes, doing ice baths, enjoying beautiful landscapes and to philosophy about life. Also interested in growing plants (I worked and lived on a small organic vegetable farm), making music, sailing and so much more!

*LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO JOIN ME ON A HIKING TRIP ON VANCOUVER ISLAND/VANCOUVER FROM MAY 25th ON AND FOR CONNECTING WITH LOCALS!*

I will have a free week from May 25th on and would love to explore nature on Vancouver Island/Vancouver area, possibly on a several days hiking trip. I have previous outdoor and trip experience but never hiked in bear land before and am therefore looking for people who want to share this experience with me. Any ideas and inspiration for a nice hiking route that takes several days and is reachable by public transport on Vancouver Island are very welcome as well!

In addition I am looking for connecting and staying with local people in the area, especially if you have similar interests (see my profile :))! In my experience it is always good to be with local people in order to get a real feeling for a place.

I am especially looking for diving deeper into encounters with traditional knowledge, ecophilosophical worldviews.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a huge movie watcher :D

In general I like to listen to uplifting music, as I realise what a huge impact music has on me. For instance: Paul Izak, Rising Appalachia, etc.

Making music is also something that I enjoy, I play a bit the piano, some chords on the guitar and started to learn the violin, without attachement to being perfect in it. ;)

I am currently reading Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and am a lot interested in this kind of litterature. Also love books like The Power of Now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I fell in love with some chickens at the farm I was working on, hanging out with and becoming friends with them. I eventually trained one of them to do some tricks that she even remembered 7 months later when I returned there.
