About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To bring holy wrath upon heathen lands of infidels! No, wait, that wasn't it. I don't have a partiuclar mission. Except to meet new people, places, foods and all sorts of things like that...
ABOUT ME
What would my friends say about me? Probably something in line with *he's a scary motherfucker* (usually unshaven, with long curly hair - people get strange impressions these days).
I joke alot (if you get me to talk, which usually isn't that hard provided there some kind of liquid with alcohol in it around) and oversized feet (they aren't really that big, it just seems that I can never find the right size when I'm buying new shoes). Rest of it you'll have to find out for yourself.
PHILOSOPHY
- everything tastes better with butter in it
- don't eat yellow snow
- "Nanny Ogg, one of the life's greatest optimists, went out to take whatever the world has to offer. Preferably with rum and bananas in it."
Edit: August, 2017.
'Tis been a long time since I was active on Couchsurfing. And whether you believe it or not, things change over time :) While much of the profile info remains true, there are few things potential guest(s) should know.
I'm no longer a single male in my twenties, living with roommates in random flats around town. Thirties kicked in, wife (or, as I like to call her: - a scary motherfucker) hangs around quite a bit, flat is our own, work aka day job is breeding down our necks etc. What this means is that we'll gladly host you over the weekend. Monday to Thursday I'm (we) inclining towards some kind of meet-up, walk-about, drink-around or similar. Unless you're an avid believer in waking up at 4:00 AM, grunting while waiting for coffee to be made, and being bitchy for no apparent reason - in that case, you're welcome to join us anytime :D
Another thing of note is that there is a dog living with us. This is not an euphemism for an exceptionally ugly child or a cranky old aunt, it's a plain ol' word designating an animal. Like my wife, he's also a sight to behold albeit quite friendly, happy and cuddly - you could call him Binky for all he cares - convinced that he's a cute lapdog despite weighing ~40 kg (around 80 pounds for Imperials out there). So, if you're scared of such creatures or allergic of things they leave around (we're convinced that we could build another dog just from the fur he leaves behind), our place just might not be the place for you.
I don't remember if I wrote this somewhere already but it doesn't hurt to see it once again. Both my wife and I are firm believers in soothing qualities and health-promoting properties of cancer-sticks, otherwise known as tobacco/cigarettes. So, apart from dog bits you'll encounter a permeating hint of tobacco smoke around the place. If this bothers you, see the last section of dog paragraph.
Think that's all you need to know for starters. We're happy to meet y'all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I don't travel too much, concerning the various reasons (mostly those of financial context) this is one way to travel without moving from your city. Sharing experience and all that....That's what it's all about...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met a few people who did this sort of thing before and they were all thrilled. So I figured, why don't I offer a couch too...
Interests
I read. I read a lot. Then I take my pen (that's to say keyboard) and write about it. Then some magazine publishes that (sometimes they even pay me for it) and world keeps turning. Apart from reading everything I can get my hand on, I watch movies and many pointless TV-shows. I don't write about them. Just like to torture myself with stuff like "The Hills" or "Charmed" or "Weeds" or I don't know. When I stumble upon something like "The Wire" it blows my mind. I tend to forget there are really good shows out there.
Rambling. That's what I usually do. Anyhow, life of a freelance journalist, art-critic and random nuisance works quite well for me. In some distant future I might be doing something else entirely but for now, I rather like my keyboard and nonsense that comes out of it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Listening to all sorts of things. Currently, main part of my time is occupied with Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Velvet underground, Lou Reed...there is a place for Americana (Lambchop, Grandaddy), progressive rock (Porcupine tree), some sort of interesting muic that I don't know genre of (April March), jazz (Yusuf Lateef, Miles Davis) and so on.
In movies, currently exploring early and mid silent film, italian neorealism, japanese cinematography, and author movement of the seventies...
Books...this would be too long to describe. Since I'm a sort of a book critic, my horison is rather large one in this area. Currently reading SF, japanese authors (working on my language), philosophy and Theory...
