Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Mali, 32 years, and born and raised in the Netherlands.
I lived for several years in a cozy wagon in a Dutch 'mobile' ecovillage, where I learned all about the ins and outs of community life. From gardening and ecological construction, to organizing monthly vegan dinners and permaculture meetings.
In 2019 I left to explore the world a little more, fill my backpack with inspiration from other ecological projects and help and share my skills and knowledge wherever I went. Since then, I have been on the road, only sporadically returning to my home country. Now I am travelling together with my partner Renzo. We thought it would be nice to blow new life into our couchsurfing experiences that date back quite some time ago. I enjoy sharing and listening to life stories, exchanging cultures and philosophies on life. I could talk and share loads about music, nature, permaculture and sustainable living. Keen on meeting others with interests in that!

Music, Movies, and Books
Art house movies, documentaries about other cultures, nature, science, religions and movies from Tony Gatlif are amongst my favorites.
Love all kinds of music - gypsy, folk, world, reggae, electro, dubstep, drum 'n bass, goa, ambient, classical, and so on..
When I find the time and energy, it's mostly historical, philosophical and psychological novels into which i can get absorbed.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Full-moon bouldering in paradise-like Hampi, India, as well as bouldering and wandering about in the forests of beautiful Fontaine Bleau, France..
Getting lost in a labyrinth of alleys, in a place where all senses are stimulated by colours-smells-sounds, where rich meets poor, where all religions melt together, where life and death mingle in the mystical place of Varanasi, India.
Seeing semi-wild orang utans, bumping into poisonous snakes, strolling through last remaining bits of rainforest and having the chance to live in a rural community for fieldwork on the impact of oil palm plantations on people's livelihoods and the environment on Borneo, Malaysia.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am a 'tabula rasa' - eager to learn and share stories, knowledge, skills and experiences with people all around me; especially anyone who's knowledgable in permaculture and ecological living would attract my full attention :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you all about the wonders of nature, would love to introduce you into the world of climbing and bouldering, share some music, maybe even have a jam session!
