About Me

Hiiii there :)

Just a wandering soul who doesn't like to sit too long in one place, and has a thirst for always doing something inspiring. I am attempting a new lifestyle this year and am doing mostly freelance work so I can travel more. Before that I was a full time bartender and server. I also train as a dancer, and keep myself busy reading/studying/having fun/eating too much/or learning something new. Currently I'm trying to teach myself graphic design in my spare time!

So excited for 2018!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to juuuuuust about everything and anything, depending on my mood. I will bounce between j-pop to jazz to funk to Japanese jazz funk (get into it!) to hip hop to Latin to African to deep house to alternative to rock to classic... I'm known to just simply listen to Tibetan bells all day. I'm a big fan all music internationally and use it connect to cultures.

For movies, I like to play a game with people called "Name that movie" and I'll most likely not have seen it. It's really fun just to see the look of disbelief on people's face. Though recently I've been trying my best to watch more movies and be in the know! My favourite movie? THE INCREDIBLES! Maybe this decision is based on the soundtrack alone but man the theme song is iconic and was my favorite song to play on the piano in jazz band. I also love Up. And Spirited Away. I'm also apparently a child haha. A kid at heart so they say.

A movie I would recommend? Train to Busan. I have never cried as ugly as I did watching this movie.

I just recently saw my first Star Wars movie ever. The one that literally just came out. I'm a fan.

TV wise my favourties list is primarily made up of anime. Cowboy Bebop hands down is my favourite. The smooth, sultry feel to it really mirrors me. Sailor Moon, the polar opposite of Cowboy Bebop is also my favourite because I am literally Sailor Moon. For anybody familiar with the show, think of her... you now know me. To finish the list, Fullmetal Alchemist. Again, just enough darkness to really compliment me, and a beautiful story. I really loved FMA and everything it gave me.

Books.
I love Thich Nhat Hanh so much.

In 2018 I'll be reading one book per month, so any suggestions are definitely welcome!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped off an icy elevated train platform that was about 4 stories high onto a roof in the middle of a Chicago blizzard in order to retrieve my wallet.

Ok.. maybe not so amazing, but I'm amazed my reckless butt didn't die.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach you some dance moves, Japanese, how to cook.

I'd love to learn anything, honestly. I'm just an open book trying to write in these pages.
