Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think that traveling is such an important necessity in life for people to really experience the world they are in. For me, traveling gives me a sense of purpose - although my every day ordinary life is quite great, I'm always planning, saving, and preparing for my next travel. Hosting CSers gives me that sense of adventure in my ordinary life, and I love hosting because of that! Couchsurfing makes me a better person - for reals!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I've joined couchsurfing, I've met amazing people, who have inspired me to get off my butt and travel! Also, I figure that its good kharma to offer your couch and hospitality to someone, especially when its been done to you!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of books, but especially travel anthologies - they are able to take me somewhere else when money is tight!!

My favorite movie is Under the Tuscan Sun...I just love how she moved to Italy and her life was fulfilled! I also love the movie MAD HOT BALLROOM...the cutest documentary film ever! Please see it!

I love live music, and music that you can get your groove on to! Salsa, samba, african drumming - I love world music!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a service project in Tijuana, Mexico, and what I found that was so amazing is the sense of community that these people with very little material possessions had. We helped build a school, and people in the neighborhood would just walk by, grab a shovel, and begin to work. That is something that I wish I could be a part of more often - and one of the reasons I moved to Mexico!

Worked as a middle school teacher for 2 years...and then went back to do it again!
