CURRENT MISSION

travelling (?!)

ABOUT ME

Born some years ago (already?!) and raised in a small village in Toscana, called Larciano, surrounded by Montalbano's olive oil plants, in between Firenze and Pisa.

I started a degree in Telecommunication Engineering, which I never liked and quit after 2 years; worked (still in bloody telecom, but couldn't do anything else for some strange reasons at the time), got bored, decided to change and went to London. Did many trips through Europe before, and many other funny things, well, I guess..I hope actually. However, lived there for more than a year, then decided to change again: Glasgow, where I fell in love with this crazy and alcoholic city. Once, years ago, I was listening (in my bed just returned home from an holiday - once again - in London) to a record by the band Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister - and thought that was a sign and realized I would have lived in that city once in my life. So it happened. I made it happen!
I returned home late 2011, stayed there for almost a year changing jobs and trying bicycle experiences, then decided to go to Australia.

I lived in Melbourne survived in a couple of restaurants, a fruit shop and as a soccer coach at Caulfield Grammar School.

Than I decided to go back home by hithchiking and flew to Thailand, where everything started. I ended up staying on the road for almost a year, through south-east Asia, central asian "stans", middle east, the Balkans then Italia from the north east...

I love traveling, surv(l)iving, crushing and getting into different, unknown and socially scary places.

I don't know why, but changing just makes me happy!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had great and unforgettable cultural experiences, met lovely, charming and curious people.

I've been hosted many times, and people I've met so far have all been very nice.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I registered few years ago as I wanted to go to Sarajevo. I've been thinking for a long time to do that...going to Sarajevo I mean. Not done it yet! Actually...done it finally! Last year, on my hitchhiking trip I made that happening.

When I go back home, or back anywhere, I always try to offer a spot to stay somehow...

Interessen

Listening to music, listening to music again (and realize how silly I was when I didn't like an album, and now I do), reading, being confused.

Cycling: I wanna go back to Italy by bicycle from...somewhere! one day. Next year maybe?!

I love making useless lists, watching the clear sky, watching the Glasgow sky at nigh when it is not cloudy and sometimes when it is cloudy as well; watching the sky actually.

Refurbishing bicycles, eating crostini, and antipasto toscano in general. Thick pizza (c'mon pizza can only be with thick base). Eating pizza by hands (always).

Maps.

I enjoy hanging around in record shops staring at shelves, sometimes listening, often without buying anything. I love doing such a thing in book shop as well, while being hypnotized by books and magazines covers and titles.

Thinking nonsense.

I love typefaces and watching graphic designers explaining how they create a new one. I love I love I love many things. The idea of me learning as many languages as possible in next let's say 9 years.

Woodworking and wood.

Football, of course. Remebering football anecdotes and stories of my childhood, as long as statistic and useless numbers about players and teams.

Tennis!

Talking politics, talking in general.

Very interested in finding another "Sarajevo place" to aim for!

I don't like much filling up section when I register to something. That's why I don't usually register anywhere. I don't like points at the end of phrases, sometimes I don't like 3 points as well - but I can't often do without it!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Replacements, Violent Femmes, Arcade fire, Pixies, Pavement, 40oz. to Freedom Sublime's awesome record! Yo La Tengo, Fugazi, Tortoise. The Penguin Cafè Orchestra. And many more c'mon! It is so hard for me...it seems like I enjoy dirty american bands, but: some british as well, why not. Map Ref. 41° N 93° W. Interrupting my train of thought lines of longitude and latitude, define and refine my altitude. Tchaikovsky, Béla Bartók, Giorgio Gaber. Imperfect voices, perfect noises. Whatever sounds natural. Why do they ask to write this kind of lists in this little space?!

Tarantino's movies, Sergio Leone as well, Clerks, Coehn brothers (the few I've seen so far). Yes: He died with a felafel in his hand!

Louis Ferdinand Celine, Galeano, Voltaire. Georges Perec and Sergej Dovlatov. Osvaldo Soriano, Roberto Bolano, Roberto Arlt. Paolo Nori. Everything is now getting to complicate. I love Internazionale magazine, The New Yorker (and its - usually - brilliant comics), Andrea Pazienza's drawings. Frigidare magazine. Keith Haring.

Before I die I wanna (try) to read the Karamazov Brothers by Dostoevskij.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Travelled europe, li(survi)ved abroad, had fun. Spoken to many people, been enchanted by people's stupid stories! lived in general. Attended awesome gigs. Ran away for more then 10 dogs annoyed by my presence once crossed from Iran into Turkey. Hithchiked from Thailand to Larciano living beautiful moments.

Technically: wandered.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Italian, english, music, politics, travelling, football (if you're brave enough). Cooking some italians recipies?! making pizza or fresh pasta. Yes, let's do it! Everything you want, if I can. Teaching-coaching soccer?! maybe it is a bit hard. But I'm always ready for a kick around, somewhere.

Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann

Probably few stories.
