About Me
Hello!
I am a recent university graduate with my bachelors degree in Politics and Psychology. I am currently working and living in a Camphill Community in the UK centered on supporting adults with special needs. In an average work day I get to take part in various workshops either on the community farm or in the weavery, and support a group of interesting, funny and complex people. I have spent a majority of my life in California and as a result my love for beaches and the ocean runs deep. I enjoy running and biking when the weather is warm, and baking, reading and obsessively watching Buzzfeed Tasty videos when the weather is not. I will be living in the UK for a year and would love to see as much of Europe as I can while I am here!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There are a lot of places in the world that I want to see and I am hoping that couch surfing will allow me to check some off the list. Couch surfing appeals to me because it seems like a great way to experience a new city and meet interesting people with local insights. I have heard lots of great stories from friends who have couch surfed and am excited to try it out!
Though I am unable to host people currently because of my living situation I hope to be able to host people when I am back in California!

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite song at the moment is Helplessness Blues by Fleet Foxes, and some of my favorite artists include George Ezra, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Simon and Garfunkel, First Aid Kit, Beirut, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Death Cab for Cutie.
My favorite films are those that I have the strongest memories with. For example old Disney films, Pride and Prejudice, the Harry Potter films etc.
Favorite quote:
Be kind in your mind and in all that you do and you'll find that mankind can be kind to you too.
As for books, my current favorites include Americanah (by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie), David and Goliath (Malcolm Gladwell), The Poisonwood Bible (Barbara Kingsolver), and the Harry Potter series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To be honest, moving to the UK for a year is probably the most amazing thing I have ever done. Both because it was a huge step into the unknown and because of how much I am loving the experience.
*I have also been chased by an elephant in India but that doesn't feel like something I did per-say... it's a story to share if we meet though :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can share with you my love for baking and my enthusiasm for outdoor activities. Though I am not bilingual I would be more than happy to help people develop their English and I am eager to learn new languages as well.
