About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've moved back to the US after a couple years living abroad in Spain and now I'm just trying to continue to travel as often as I can!! Right now it's a visit back to Spain, but next time? Next time who knows!?

ABOUT ME

I´m a very open person. I´m very positive, very nice and love meeting new people.

PHILOSOPHY

Always try something once. Can't know if you like it until you've tried it :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to be able to host people at my home! I live currently in an amazingly open city in the U.S. that just happens to be a major capitol city as well as a college town! I welcome any of you to my home in Madison, Wisconsin where the city is full of parks, great activities, music, festivals and ofcourse, lots of cheese and beer. You would be more than welcome to sleep on my couch or give you a place to put an airmattress. I do work 9 hours a day during the week, but you are still welcome! You must like cats though, I have two very crazy kittens.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I was living in Spain I had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe and was able to be hosted while I was in Italy and was treated so well i couldn't help but do it again! I then stayed with a couch surfer in Belgium and again, had just a WONDERFUL time! I really look forward to being able to do an equally amazing job if you ever find your way passing through the Midwest of the US :) My friends think I'm crazy for traveling alone, but if no one is able to go with me what else am I supposed to do?! I've not hosted anyone before because my living situation never allowed it while i was living in Spain, but i finally have a nice one bedroom place at the moment, with a backyard where you can pitch a tent if you need to also!

I have met with many other people from couchsurfing in the various cities I have been to, merely by coincidence actually. I love the idea of couchsurfing and what it's all about. This friendliness towards people we've never met and desire to share and learn all about all the cultures in the world is wonderful. Traveling has always been my favorite pasttime and a site such as this goes a long way towards improving our own experiences. Love it!

Interests

I love to try all manner of new things. I like to go out and party, I´m happy just staying in and reading a good book, I love museums, foreign movies, art, sightseeing. I love just learning about the culture of another country, especially with the food!!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything and everything. No joke on this one!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At this point? I'd have to say moving abroad with little time for preparation (selling everything large I owned, packing up my entire life and finding homes for my cats, all in less than two months) and living in Spain. It had been my dream since forever and I'm very proud to have done it. Now that I'm a bit older and more aware of the world and my place in it, I find that just traveling as often as possible is the best thing I can do. I've never been one to travel to a place more than once, but Spain is a passion I will never outgrow, and although I need to continue to travel all over the world, first I need to go back and see my friends. The US is just so completely different :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn Italian, and actually, can now say that I have, now I'm working on German but man it's not that easy! But I honestly learn everyday and absolutely love it. There's a reason I became a teacher.. I never stop learning and never stop teaching. Sounds cheesy but you'll know it's true after a couple drinks :D Part of the experience of traveling is learning about other cultures, and I want just as much to learn about others as I do want to share about my own.
