Chi sono

Hello !

Quite hard to introduce myself through written sentences like this, but I'll try my best.
I am a young adult with a lot of desires, ideas and projects about what to do with my life, but still unable to choose. However, something I am 100% I want to do as long as my body allows it: explore this wonderful planet and its human and non-human inhabitants. From cities to the countryside, from hidden paradises less than an hour from my home to faraway countries, from the top of the mountains to the undersea, my curiosity has no limit. Even if my ecological convictions often make me reluctant to go really far from home, I sometimes allow me exceptions. This trip to New Zealand is one of these.

To give a subjective overview of who I am, I would say I am an easy-going and laid-back person (maybe too much since I find very, very, very hard to wake up early on the morning, and to be on time on appointments...). I am curious about a lot of things, especially during an expedition in a place I don't know.
the way I connect to people I meet is usually through laughing: I'll probably try to find what could make you laugh when I meet you, which often requires quite an adaptation (actually it happens that it doesn't work at all but hopefully it won't happen too much!).

Let's have a beer or anything else to talk and if we have fun it's a win-win!

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I discovered CS when I traveled alone for the first time in 2017. I did a 10 months trip in South America, and I decided to try the experience, even though I had only been told about it on forums and social medias. I can now certify this was the best decision I took during the whole trip (and maybe of my life, since that trip deeply changed me and define the person I am right now).
I met such amazing, generous and open-minded people thanks to CS. This way of traveling allowed me to get me immersed into the local cultures, from rich people living at the top of building in a Brazilian megalopolis to small families in the coutryside of Chile. We shared stories, food, languages, stories again, jokes, adventures, hikes, drinks and so more. I am so grateful of everyone I met.

So now, everytime I have the opportunity to use it, I do. It is very important to not consider CS just as a way to sleep for free: if I am sending you a request, it means that the goal is to share a few days with you and your family/friends/pets/plants and have a real exchange. I aim to grow as a person thanks to all the hosts and travelers I meet, and hopefully you will spend a good time too! :)

Interessi

Don't know if that really matters to have a good together...

At least I can say that: it's very likely I'll be up for hiking somewhere and drinking beers at the pub. So both in the same day? Damn I'm fullfilled

Otherwise, my real passions in life are undoubtedly rugby, mountains and its outdoor activities, and (over)thinking/talking/debating/dreaming about the great 21th century challenge that all humans have to face: building a society that is socially fair, ecologically respectful and truly democratic

Musica, film e libri

Music: love reggae, disco, funk, cumbia, Fela Kuti's style afrobeat, soul, US rap and a lot more styles that I can't describe. Always looking to discover new songs, Shazam is my best friend

Movies & series: Lord of the Rings are my all-time favorite movies (I'm not saying that because I'm traveling to NZ, it is and will always be true). Waaaaay after come suspense, science-fiction and thrillers like Seven, Mr. Robot, Breaking Bad, Interstellar, Parasite... Oh and of course OSS 117, but I guess that movie doesn't go above french frontiers

Books: I am love reading, especially society essays (mostly of political ecology and everything related to the environment and how capitalism if f******* us all), science-fictions books (utopias and dystopias, cyberpunks) and dark whodunits.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I spent Christmas in the middle of the Baja California desert, with a whole mexican family, right after I (unfortunately) crashed the van I did my roadtrip with. That was tough at the moment, but it became such an amazing memory.
