ABOUT ME

I like to see different places, meet different people and experience other ways of life. I imagine being in the shoes of whoever it is I am engaged with. I realize my experience in life is limited because I can only be one place at a time. Knowing this is what often makes me restless but it is also what makes things exciting when I am experiencing something new. I am only one of many people living in one of many cities, just like you.

I only heard of CS about a week ago from a friend. I wish I knew of this site a long time ago.

Intereses

Illustrating. I like to draw. I uploaded a couple drawings of mine in my photos.

I love music and often go to see shows in the neighborhood. The local music scene in Philadelphia is pretty exciting.

Good movies, books, food, and drink. I know it's really hard to believe that I am interested it these things but it's completely true. Trust me.

This is a loaded question but I'll give it a try:

Movies: Woody Allen, Federico Fellini, Werner Herzog, Paul Thomas Anderson, Coen brothers, Orsen Welles. Paul Newmie! Cool Hand Luke might be my favorite movie.

Music: Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, The Clash, Arcade Fire, Television, New Order, Neil Young, The Stokes, Radiohead, Andrew Bird, Iggy Pop, Destroyer, Sunset Rubdown. The Walkmen have recently secured a permanent place in my heart. Right now I consider them my favorite modern rock band.

Books: Vonnegut, Salinger, Bukowski, Heller, John Fante come to mind. And of course, José Saramago (I'm winking at Portugal, my next destination). Honestly though, I've read a few of his books and am a fan.

I once left a cozy office job and became a steel laborer in NYC working on the construction of a JFK airport terminal. I worked 10 hour days and 6 days a week doing nothing but carrying steel. For the 1st month I worked with a back injury and shoulders that bled throughout the day because they were covered by 2 large open wounds. I would spend all day carrying 120-150lbs of steel on top of those wounds.

Anyway, I know I'm bragging but it was easily one of the hardest things I have gone through in my life. It was also the best impulsive decision I ever made. My life would be completely different in a sad way if I didn't make a move and remained "rational" inside of that old dusty office cubicle.
