About Me
NB: My response rate is at 0% as I struggle for a while with the concept of a CS subscription, but now active here again :)
Back when I signed up on Couchsurfing, I was just starting out my studies in Leuven. Today, I am again living in Leuven, where I now live with my husband Tom, and our 1-year old daughter Lara.
In those 13+ years, a lot has happened: I have lived in Budapest, Delft, Brussels and Philadelphia, made incredible trips around the world (to Cuba, Canada, Japan, ...), and tried out different jobs (ranging from strategy consultant to secondary school teacher). Today, I still try to combine different interests, and have become freelancer to enjoy that flexibility.
Other things have stayed very much the same: I am still an energetic person who is curious about life, and loves to travel and exchange with fellow travellers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started couchsurfing back in 2011 when I decided to solo-travel from Brussels to Istanbul by train, and met all these interesting people along the way. I started hosting shortly after during my exchange semester in Budapest.
Couchsurfing has made my travel experiences that much more special, in so many different countries. Hosted both in Budapest and in Brussels, welcome to stay at our place in Leuven before or after our travel!
I am eager to now embark on a new chapter as we hope to couchsurf with our daughter on our two-month long trip that is coming up in 2025.

Music, Movies, and Books
A book I recently enjoyed was "The world according to Garp" by John Irving
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing does not quite cover it! Seeing brown bears up close in Alaska, volunteering in the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, solo-travelling from Brussels to Istanbul, quitting my job, hitchhiking to Copenhagen ...
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach math (when I quit my job a couple of years ago, I decided to sub as a math teacher in a secondary school, and then ended up pursuing an education master afterwards),
Learn as much as I can
Share travel stories
What I Can Share with Hosts
Stories, help in the household and perhaps some Belgian beer or chocolate if we manage to bring it along in our travels
