About Me

Hey, I'm Malte!

I've been studying electrical engineering in the western part of Germany and did a parallel apprenticeship as an electrician. Since having my degrees I wanted to make some completely different experiences around the world.

I consider myself an open minded person and I am always interested in learning new things and getting to know interesting people and their lifestyle.

After working for 3 month on a Huskyfarm in northern Finland, I'm travelling again through the Baltic States and Scandinavia.
Recently I stayed 2,5 months on a small goat Farm in the Setomaa Region of Estonia.
I like being outside in the nature, even if the conditions are rough.

Wether it is about music, books or movies I'm up for the stuff that touches me about my own life or just connects me to the world we live in.

I like to talk and exchange experiences but I also acknowledge the quiet moments a lot :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing to meet people who actually live in the area that I am visiting.
I like to get a feeling of what the local people are, and what life is like wherever I am staying.

I also like the idea of couchsurfing, because exchanging on the individual concepts of life gives me inspiration for my own life and often encourages me to pursue my dreams. I hope that I can also give this feeling to others :)

Music, Movies, and Books

From Tool over Bon Iver to Aphex Twin.

From arthouse over documentaries to classics.

Recently I read "Homo Faber", "The Old Man and the Sea" and "The Stranger".
My favourite author probably is Hermann Hesse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working on a Huskyfarm, which means doing things like riding a sled with an eight dog team in an absolutely stunning, snowy landscape for multiple hours. And then halfway through realizing that it will be pitch black in the next minutes and I have forgotten my headtorch :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In

Estonia, Finland, Germany
