Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Additionally, I try to surf while travelling around.
I first started CS with riding from the South-West of Finland to the North Cape in Finnmark (Norway) with some friends, and met a really nice guy over there who inspired me to try CS more often.
My second CS-experience has been on the way back in the south of Rovaniemi (on the way to Ranua) - an original and very nice Finnish family, living in the stereotype of the incredible nice and unique Finnish countryside!
Since then I really did CS more often for myself and it has been always a new and special experience so far.

I started hosting in summer 2011 - before, I just got no requests, had no time or no couch available...

Searching for a couch may be stressful and can be endless and unsuccessful but I really think hosting is much more time-consuming and hard in the end which I didn't realise before I started it myself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Difficult question! Let's see:
I once walked alone 2.300 metres up and over 22.000 metres long to the Zugspitze in Germany within less than 8 hours - just for having some fun.

Touching the frozen fur of a moose in the south of the arctic circle in Finland while it was watching the sunset at 2 pm was awesome!

I've been in the TV-picture of Germany's main evening news for some minutes when our Chancellor was answering questions at the election of the German President C. Wulff because I was organising a bit of this election.
