About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Save the world. Seriously!

ABOUT ME

I am an italian girl with a passion for animals and plants. I live in Padova with my boyfriend and my 3 cats. I am vegan, and what I always look for is happiness for everyone, no matter if furry, swimming or flying.

PHILOSOPHY

I see many people writing "I am tolerant" and "every idea deserves its place". No, I am not tolerant and I don't think that a negative, violent, aggressive, deadly, racist, brutal philosophy deserves a chance. Tolerance is a word with no meaning to me. Tolerance means what? Is it the ability to include in your life terrible human beings, selfish and destroying? I try to do my best to be a conscious human being, and this includes the careful choice in every possible aspect of my life. I do it for me, for other people and for future generations (this also includes me as an old lady!) and I can't stand other people's superficial behaviour, lack of consciousness and don't feeling involved, part of something. Respect is caring, not tolerance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's very funny: as a copywriter, i had to write an article about CS, but it's impossible to know something about it without entering as a logged member. So i built a horrible profile in 10 seconds, and as a description i wrote, in italian, that i'm here just for my job, i don't want to meet anyone, just working... But none could read italian, and CS requests started immediately, so I disabled my couch and forgot about CS. After a few weeks it came to my mind that CS exists, and it seems to work, and tried to invite someone. It was 2 years ago, and it seems I have always been a CS addicted. At the moment I work a lot and have no time to travel, so I host people, especially women, mainly to save them from men who look for something else than mutual enrichment. I am more the kind of person who gives, so it's easier for me to host people than to be a guest.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As I said before, CS came unexpectedly (does this word exist?) to me, and for the moment I have only had positive and great experiences. As a vegan, I know how uncomfortable I feel while travelling in countries where meat is food, the rest is embellishment, so I usually invite vegan and vegetarian people: I like to help people who are good to the planet, and CS gives me the opportunity to meet so many good people from distant country. I like people who have a different point of view, it's one of the most enriching things you can experience.

Interests

cooking! sewing! and laughing ^_^ I have a degree in sociology, and I actually work as translator and copywriter, but my real passion is my sewing machine, and I hope I'll become a tailor very soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Ska-p, oh yes, I like them soooo much! I also like Mika, Caparezza, Squire of Somertone; I like birds (Eels) makes me sing and Sweet child o' mine has been my favourite song for decades, I like some opera songs, like Non più andrai farfallone amoroso (I used to sing this song for my cat), Un bel dì vedremo and Una voce poco fa. I like some instrumental songs like Pachelbel's Canon, and I appreciate old music from western countries, does not matter the country, which make me dance.

Movies: I don't have a favourite genre, I am actually doing a "zombie cure" to stop being afraid of zombies... In general I like stupid movies, which make me forget my mission for a while ;-) The day after tomorrow, Harry Potter and whatever it takes (I mean all the h.p. movies), Legion, The dawn of the dead, FIDO (one of my favourite!), Pulp fiction, Constantine, Looper and many many others... I like series, too, and my favourites are Psychoville (absolutely recommended, I never laughed so much before, I really love it!) and GoT, I also liked a lot the first series of Desperate Housewives and Dexter. I never finished Flash Forward because I read on internet that they interrupted it 0_0 My next series will be Vikings and Breaking bed. I know i'm late, but I really work, study and live a lot and I never find the time to relax watching television, also because it seems to me that there is always something better to do.

Books: all the Harry Potter! I'm reading the Game of thrones saga (i think in english it's A song of ice and fire). I like Andrea Camilleri and Stephen King, they both have a taste for words that meets mine, even if the subjects are totally different. Among the classics, I liked a lot Pride and prejudice, Wuthering heights and Madame Bovary, I used to read medical thriller to relax when I was younger (especially Patricia Cornwell) and I read half of The lord of the rings: it is still here, open close to my bed, waiting for me to finish it. I like Neruda and I go really crazy for an italian poet, Toti Scialoja, who I met in my childhood, thanks to my grandmother, and still gives me pleasure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once swam alone in an undergoud dark lake, with only torches to illuminate the space. I cured my baby cat when I thought he was dying (now he's fine, 8 kg of healthy fur that you will meet).
