About Me

I'm an easygoing lady with plenty of energy and desire to travel as much as possible, until I can't move under my own speed. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have stayed in nice hotels, bad motels, hostels, and in a tent (several times.) I learned I'm just as happy with simple accommodations as expensive ones.

I like to meet new people, share a coffee or a meal, and be a good visitor.

Interests

People watching, cooking (a lot!), reading, watching movies, gardening, hiking, and exploring whatever place I find myself in. I love to read the local newspapers, visit the farmer's market, museums and libraries. I'm not a drinker; but a single glass of a good red wine I can appreciate. I like to be at my best, so alcohol doesn't fit my social needs. Being in new surroundings is exciting and never boring.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite books are varied. I have several Steven King novels in my modest bookshelf. It also includes "The Age Of The Unthinkable" by Joshua Cooper Ramo, which deals with current economic and social issues in our time, and some unusual ideas to fix them. I love "In This House of Brede" by Rumer Godden, and "Friday" by the great Robert Heinlein. Movies? "Pulp Fiction", with UmaThurman, "Chicago" with Renee Zellweger, and I'm addicted to "Downton Abbey".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed the Dunn River Falls with some friends in Jamaica a few years back. Imagine climbing up a limestone mountain against ice-cold rushing water! Luckily, our party opted for a video of the whole experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm looking to barter some good home cooking or household help along with my spot on your couch.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can sew pretty well. I can teach you some basic recipes. I'm also a deep discount bargain shopper, and a thrift store aficionado. I make quilts, curtains, tablecloths, and napkins to dress up your home and save some trees with washable kitchen and dining room linen.

Want some bangin' home cooking? I'm your gal.
