About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet local and international couchsurfers to share our travel bug.

ABOUT ME

To put things in a nutshell, I'm an easy-going, friendly, and caring person. I love to travel to see the amazing things around the world, and meet interesting, solid people. I love getting up and walking around a strange, new city and exploring its food, history, entertainment, culture, and people! Traveling pushes boundaries and stretches the mind. I live for moments when I'm somewhere completely new and I happen to look up at the sky in a foreign place and it just hits me where I am. I just think, "Wow." Not everyone has the privilege of being able to do that, and I consider myself very lucky.

PHILOSOPHY

One must go forth into the world and experience it first-hand and laugh, sing, dance!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am fortunate enough to have met some wonderful people through couchsurfing, and my first experience was a very memorable one in Vancouver with a wonderful woman named Christine. I would love to host guests in my home, but currently I can only do coffee/dinner/drinks/hiking/hanging out meetings with locals and travelers. Even if I cannot host you, I'd love to meet you and hang out!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've both surfed and met up with couchsurfers who have all turned out to be super helpful, amazing people! There's no better joy than to have a local inspire and guide you through the wonders of their city, and I would love to do the same (albeit San Jose, CA is not as amazing as Barcelona, Bogota, Bangkok, or NYC!)

Interests

Hiking, watching the sunset, gazing at stars, eating new foods, shopping at farmer's markets, farming activities, reading, laughing, talking to locals, movies, bodies of water, parks, meeting nice people, fruits (especially exotic ones that at first intimidate me but always turn out to be delicious)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think recently the most amazing thing I've done is take the 6-day trek to La Ciudad Perdida in the mountains in Northern Colombia. We hiked through the humid, hot jungle and mountainous landscape in search of a lost world, and along the way met some great people, pushed myself harder than I have ever done before, and got lost in the beauty of the country. Keepsake experience, and I loved it!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some Chinese words or phrases, how to make a really good carrot cake, or how to play badminton.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand
