ABOUT ME

After taking the road well-traveled for the first 25 years of my life, I now find myself forging an unexpected path around the world.

I'm easy-going, down-to-Earth, and uber-friendly (perpetuating the Canadian stereotype!).

But, I also like pushing myself, and people who do the same. You learn more from that then you ever could on the road well-traveled.

I've met some wonderful people through this program. People who have become good friends.

Interests

Travel. Hiking. Living well.

Cooking new foods, meeting new people, learning new things.

I'm always up for a game of whatever...from bowling to basketball to board-games.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Thought-provoking documentaries. Mindless chick flicks.

Music: Songs that either tell a story or make my feet start tapping. Preferably songs that do both.

Books: Ones that teach me things. And ones that teach me nothing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered in a monastery in Nepal.
Spent a few days learning Thai massage in a Buddhist temple in Lopburi.
Had a shaman bless me in a traditional farewell ceremony in Laos.
Spent a week sketching the temples of Angkor Wat.
Rode a camel through the sand dunes of Mongolia.
Lived in a small town in Korea for 2 years teaching English.
Took a road trip around Australia.
Lived and worked in Turkey for a year.
(Hitch) hiked across Canada and the Western USA.
Spent 3 months as a volcano trekking guide in Nicaragua.
Hiked 650km through the Himalayas over the course of 45 days.

Teach, Learn, Share
