About Me

I am from Montpellier (France) and I currently live in the U.S. with my partner.
My work and research focuses on waste reduction and especially food waste in France and the US. I also try to reduce waste as much as possible as part of my lifestyle.
I think/hope my friends would say I am "fun"; I am very active and I like discovering new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I discovered CouchSurfing in Cuenca, Spain, with a Mexican host. I did a lot of couchsurfing in NYC, in Central Europe (Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest) and in California. I also host couchsurfers when I can (but I've mostly lived with several housemates so it's not always possible).
I think it's a great way to meet people while I travel and I have met really good friends through couchsurfing!!

Interests

I like travelling, hiking, hitch-hiking, talking, dumpster-diving, biking, rollerblading, dancing, camping...
I have done a lot of research (as part of a Phd program in Sociology) on food waste, "dumpster-diving", "freeganism", and generally on how to reduce (over)consumption and waste. I like to meet people interested in sustainability, food systems, waste...but I'm also interested in a lot of other issues!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I couchsurfed for almost 2 months in NYC and discovered how to rescue food from dumpsters :) I hitch-hiked through central Europe, the best ride was Paris-Krakow in 13 hours!

I can teach French for sure, probably some other things, like how to prepare a cake in 5 minutes.
